Around the Nat(m)osphere in 90 Seconds

Is it Natosphere, or Natmosphere, or Nattysphere, or Bowdosphere, or Boudainosphere? I desire some uniformity, people.

Anyway, here's some topics, with corresponding blogger . . . uh, elucidation?

LEASE FIASCO

  • Capitol Punishment: links, analysis, excerpt from Mayor Bowtie's statement regarding financing.
  • Nationals Enquirer (a new addition, and not to be confused with my old Nationals Inquirer): in-depth, Crop-o-centric analysis.
  • Curly W: the definitive graphic on all stadium issues; if you read it, everything becomes clear.
MASCOTS
  • OMG/Harper: most exhaustive mascot analysis I've ever seen; Mr. Met at No. 1?
  • Eucalyptus: why Mr. Met shouldn't be No. 1.
  • Speaking of which, here's the mostest bestest mascot, like, in the history of the galaxy:

But you knew I'd say that, right?

SORIANO

THE SCHEDULE NATS CARAVAN
  • Just a Nats Fan: Screech is a freak; Dutch doesn't know his own nickname.
  • Ballwonk: kids love Brandon Watson (must be the winning smile!).
ONE MORE THING . . .

Nien?
Banks is running around going "Neen neen neen?"  I think you mean "Nein."

Your mascot picture is broke, too.  What's it supposed to be?

"I before E" except in German, huh?
Oh, and the mascot is simply known as The Man.

The Mr. Met situation
I didn't see a way to comment to his posts so in response to Eucalyptus and his Mr. Met question;  Homer and Mr. Red are down as far as they are because of their partners (Rally and Gapper, respectively).  I was rating mascots by team, not individually.  If you have two mascots that's bad enough, but these guys were so awful they dragged anything connected with it down.

Else small-head homer should be fairly close to Mr. Met (with Mr.Met given the edge for coming first), Mr. Red though kills people at Crystal Lake during the Fall.

Do not taunt Mr. Red or expose him to sunlight
Wasn't there a movie where Van Damme fought to the death against the Pittsburgh Penguin?

Ugh
Yes, and it was awful.  Sudden Death is the worst Van Damme movie I've ever seen.

Go Penguin
I just remember them wrasslin' in a kitchen or something. I think van Damme hit the Penguin guy over the head with a pan or something---my memory is sketchy on that point. Whatever it was, it was definitely ridiculous.

As for worst van Damme movie, wow. What about "Kickboxer"? The super-slo-mo "Waaaaaa" voice after J.Cl. would kick or punch . . . if you string them together, they sound sort of like Fozzy Bear. Really.

best van damme movie
I think it's called Hard Target, maybe Sudden Impact.  Whichever one it is has a cajun speaking Wilford Brimley shooting arrows while riding a horse.  AWE-SOME.

But the scene
Where the helicopter goes down through the hole in the roof is great.  Plus he proves what we all knew at the time, that anyone could put on the pillowcases that the goalies where and stop most shots.
