10/21/07 2nd Annual "Chad Cordero's Brim Is As Flat As A..." Analogy Collection.

It all started again in early April of 2007...

...2-0 Nationals lead in the ninth. Chad Cordero warms in the bullpen. The first save opportunity of the season. Cordero wears the gray away Nationals uniform with the navy blue Nationals cap with it's white cursive "W" shadowed in red, and the brim of Cordero's cap is unbent, flat as, "Flat as the Braves offense tonight?" Scout, my brother, Braves Fan and Source For All Things Baseball offers. Flat as Scout's calls for a rally are falling on my ears here tonight. The Braves announcers claim there is a slight bend in Cordero's cap. Blasphemy!...

...And each time the Flat-Brimmed Closer Chad Cordero notched another save, the comedy-pyramid grew...

...as flat as the waveless surface of the water in the Reflection Pool leading to the edge of the Lincoln Monument...

...a brim as flat as old Mrs. Baker's cat when it was scraped off the side of the road...(ed-"Just crude.")

...a brim as flat as Pete Rose's helmet hair in the 70's...

...as flat as Old Busch Stadium which sits beneath parked cars now...(ed- "Sorry, St.Louis!")

...as flat as the spirits of North Stars fans 'til the Wild came around...(ed- Hockey? Anyone?)

...as flat as two pennies left on the tracks as a train flies by...(ed-"Take our word for it, do NOT try this!!)

...as flat as Biff's flattop haircut in "Back To the Future."

...as flat as the flat stretch of Rte 295 that connects DC to Baltimore...

...a brim as flat as the hearts of "Leafs" fans every year since `67...

...as flat as the sharp line the darkness cuts across the middle of tonight's gibbous moon...

...as flat as the response to "Major League 3: Back to The Minors"...

...as flat as the late afternoon Sunday sunlight that stretches evenly across the outfield grass...

...as flat as Sidney Crosby's stick blade...

...as flat as Lamon Brewster's performance in the prize fight against Vladimir Klitschko televised tonight on HBO from Germany...(ed- "Just Kidding Lamon, Big Fan!)

...a brim as flat as the bone dry desert plains outside Roswell, New Mexico where nearly sixty years ago this month a "flying saucer" crashed and it's debris was discovered and later covered up by government agents. (Just Kidding?)...

...as flat as the patch of grass in RFK's centerfield as opposed to the silly-a** hill in Minute Maid Park's center field in Houston...

...a brim as flat as One-Time Presumptive Republican Presidential Nominee John McCain's Campaign account..

...brim as flat as Nationals fans' hearts will sink if the team trades the Flat-Brimmed Closer this week...

...flat as Ivan Drago's "flattop" in Rocky IV...

...a brim as flat as the line on Vice President Cheney ----- when they induced a ----- in order to replace his -----(ed- Sorry this was a write in anology that has been redacted...Cheney/Jeb `08!!!)...

...a brim as flat as the lies that all you Mets fans believed about Chad Cordero heading to Queens...

...as flat as the blade of Adam Oates' stick, which he used to pass to Brett Hull when both were with the St.Louis Blues...

...as the crowd fell when the Giants Left Fielder struck at swinging late at Lannan's curve...(ed- "Sorry, Mike Bacsik!)

...as flat as the line the Golden Gate Bridge cuts across the San Francisco skyline...

...as flat as marriage jokes fall at a wedding...

...a brim as flat as the line of late-afternoon shadows working it's way across the field of play...

...as flat as deli-sliced American cheese...

...a brim as flat as the rain-soaked Dolphin Stadium outfield grass...

...a brim as flat as Kearns just leveled Corky Miller! (Braves catcher)...

...as flat as the spirits of Mets fans all over Queens....

...as flat as the fans reception to Teddy Roosevelt losing again...

...a brim as flat as the Nationals are about to level Philly's lead in the East...(ed- "So the Nationals had to settle for knocking out the Mets!)

Ahhh...
The memories.

Didn't Scout and Stanla have some good one's also?

What a tall pyramid!

Scout contributed...
...a few of the above analogies anonymously.

StanL...sadly missing in action.

It was a tall pyramid. Though I'll once again state that at the mid-point of the second season of analogies I've been writing, this has become a "Simpsons-opening sequence-chalkboard" type item that I might be starting to regret starting...

thanks for reading.
