Nats acquire Tyler Clippard

for Albaladejo.  Another nice pick up.  We have depth in the pen and need starting depth.  Clippard's numbers have exceeded his scouting reports, and most see him as  a back end of the rotation starter (but, who on the Nats isn't?).  He'll be in the mix in spring training, but more time in AAA is probably best.

Another nice move by Bowden.

How long do you think the Nationals will continue to have "depth in the pen"? Will Cordero and Rauch remain Nationals after this week?

Clippard had 175 K's in 116.1 IP in '06 at Double-AA Trenton, but I liked Big John Albaladejo in his short stint in DC.

Middle relievers are one thing the Nationals can afford to move though I agree.

You're right too, no one ever talks about the Nationals starters as anything other than 4th or 5th starters on their own teams.
