Around SBN: Dissecting Nick Diaz's Positive Drug Test

Who's Watching The 2008 Playoffs? Or Do You Stop Watching When The Washington Nationals Stop Playing?

 MLB Postseason on SB Nation

If you are still following the MLB Postseason even though the Washington Nationals are once again not participating, the SBN has set up a "Playoff Hub" where all the latest playoff-related posts are collected. (ed. note - "There's a widget leading to the "Hub" in the right margin for the remainder of the playoffs.")

Nationals' Postseason wrap-ups...

(ed. note - "I am working on some Nationals' Season in Review-type material, but it's far from done, so for now here's a look around the rest of the internets at what some other Nationals' bloggers are saying...")

One of federalbaseball.com's favorite games all season-long was the BLAME GAME, and Dave at bottomfeederbaseball.com is apparently fond of affixing as well with his postseason post, "Assessing the Blame" finding and pointing out some of the same players who often found the italicized (B) following their name here at federalbaseball after some crucial error cost the Nationals a game...

Steven at Fire Jim Bowden keeps hammering away with his recent post entitled, "Former Reds Available this Off-Season", which is really just that, a list of Reds' free agents that is really the printed equivalent of stone-faced deadpan comedy...it's just funny to read and imagine, no jokes necessary...

Nats320 had a talk with Neptune...New Jersey's own Jason Bergmann in a post entitled, "Season Ending Chat With Jason Bergmann"...

The Best Game of 2008 for the Nationals? I picked Zimmerman's walk-off winner on Opening Night and Belliard's walk-off to beat the Orioles... but John Dugan, at the Washington Nationals Examiner, chose the Nationals 1-0 win over the NY Mets on September 16th in his post entitled, "Best Game: Nationals' win over Mets tops for the year."

THE SBN AWARDS ARE COMING...

I submitted my ballot yesterday...

My choice for NL MVP? Ryan Howard!!! His September #'s did it...25 G's, 31 for 88, .352 AVG, 7 2B, 2 3B, 11 HR's and 32 RBI's? While leading Philly to the top of the NL East...(ed. note -"C'mon did you really think I'd pick Carlos Delgado? Even if he did deserve it? Which he might if the Mets had taken out the Phillies...")

Who's Your NL MVP? How about the NL Cy Young? Rookie of the Year? Is there any doubt that Sweet Lou Piniella is the Manager of the Year in the National League? Does Torre get it for leading LA back to October? (ed. note - "Don't just answer to yourself, that's what the Comments section is for...")
