Baltimore lefty Brian Burres makes quick work of the first three Washington batters. Melvin Mora takes a 1-2 pitch from Odalis Perez deep to left where Wily Mo Pena tracks but fails to catch what ends up a one-out double. Nick Markakis lines a 1-1 fastball right back up the middle. Mora scores. 1-0 O's. 

Give me a "D"...GIve me a "Y"...DY!!! singles to lead off the second. Aaron Boone doubles into the left center gap, and DY makes his way to third. Jesus "6-Spot" Flores scores a run with a groundout. 1-1 ballgame. Odalis Perez gets ground ball outs from Jay Payton and Adam "In Return for Bedard" Jones, but Perez gives up a two-out single to Alex Cintron. Odalis Perez catches Cintron leaning, and Cintron's tagged out sliding into second to end the inning. 

Bottom of the third, Brian Roberts lifts an inside 0-2 pitch to the corner in left, and Wily Mo Pena's so far toward center he doesn't have a chance. Roberts safe at second. Roberts steals third underneath Zimmerman's swiping tag. Melvin Mora hits a liner one-hop and off Wily Mo Pena's chest to score Roberts. 2-1 O's. Nick Markakis drives an Odalis Perez slider to right center and four rows deep into the stands. 4-1 Baltimore. 

Brian Burres hangs a change to Ryan Zimmer- THE KIDS CALL HIM ZIM!! THE KIDS CALL HIM ZIM!!! Ryan Zimmerman yanks the hanger to left and out in an instant. 4-2 Orioles. Alex Cintron hits a one-out single to center, and Odalis Perez walks Melvin Mora to give Markakis a shot with ducks on the pond...O. Perez pops up Markakis to end the fourth. 

Burres fools Lastings Milledge with a two-strike curve. Austin Kearns pops out foul of first. Wily Mo Pena lines a single to center, but Felipe Lopez grounds into a force to end the DC fifth....Kevin Mill-ah beats Zimmerman with a shaaap grounda off the third baseman's glove, to reach on a fielding errah. Aubrey Huff flies out harmlessly to center. Ramon Hernandez pops out to short center. 3-1 fastball down the pipe to Jay Payton, who deposits it in left for another two-run blast off Odalis Perez. 6-2 O's. Adam Jones is safe at first after Aaron Boone drops Odalis Perez's shuffle pass to first, but Jones turns toward second to look for the call and gets called out after Boone tags him for having done so...

Cristian Guzman takes four balls and walks to lead off the sixth. Zimmerman grounds to third, Mora, to Roberts, to Mill-ah, double play. DY down swinging..."Wild" Joel Hanrahan gets a groundball from Alex Cintron, but Felipe Lopez's throw pulls Boone off the bag. Hanrahan walks Brian Roberts, but gets a double play grounder from Melvin Mora, Guzman to Lopez to Boone, double play. Hanrahan throws strike three to Markakis, and when the Ump calls ball four, Flores gets tossed...Hanrahan gets a ground ball from Mill-ah to end the sixth. 

Brian Burres walks Aaron Boone to start the seventh. Wil Nieves pops out to short. Lastings Milledge flies out to left center. Brian Burres is done for the night, leaving with the lead. Side-winder Chad Bradford's on in relief. Austin Kearns grounds out to third. Stand up and stretch...Hanrahan retires the Orioles in order in the seventh. Still 6-2 O's. 

Wily Mo Pena's waking up, hitting his second single to left to lead off the eighth. Felipe Lopez grounds into a force at second, but reaches first safely. Cristian Guzman goes down to slice a fastball from Bradford into left. Melvin Mora fields a weak grounder from Zimmerman but has to settle for the force at third. Dennis Sarfate replaces Bradford to get the last out of the inning. DY works the count full, and walks to load the bases. Sarfate's throwing hot fire, but Boone likes the fastball, and he drills the first one into left, two runs score. 6-4 Orioles. Jim Johnson replaces Sarfate. Johnson walks Wil Nieves to load the bases for Milledge. 0-2 pitch from Johnson hits Milledge in the back of the shoulder. DY trots home. 6-5 O's. Austin Kearns goes to a full count...and strikes out swinging. 6-5 Orioles. Saul Rivera gets a ground ball back to the mound from Alex Cintron, and Rivera pulls back his glove to let Guzman get it, only to watch Guzman have it bounce off his mitt. Brian Roberts lines a single to right. Melvin Mora flies out to center. Nick Markakis flies out to Pena in left. 

The Flat-Brimmed Poser George Sherrill comes on to close it. (ed. note - "That's gimmick infringement.") Wily Mo Pena grounds out. Felipe Lopez gets blown away chasing a fastball. Cristian Guzman pops the first pitch out to first. 6-5 final. Orioles take two straight from DC.
