Columbus Clipper AAA Report

I'm not a huge Nats fan, but I live in Columbus and have been paying close attention to the Washing AAA team the Columbus Clippers.

Star-divide

This week the Clippers moved into the middle of the division with a record of 17-15. Jason Bergmann was voted International League pitcher of the week and for the season is 2-2 with an ERA of 3.68. Another pitcher of notability is the famous Mike Bacisk, who let up the record-breaking home run to Barry Bonds, who is 3-1 with a 3.63 ERA.

Our hottest hitter is the ex-Brave Ryan Langerhans who has played in 31 games and has a .317 batting average with 3 home runs and 20 runs batted in. The other ex-Brave, Pete Orr, also is batting strong as he carries a .289 batting average and is second on the team to Langerhans with 18 runs batted in.

I always liked Langerhans

It pained me that he just couldn’t seem to hit in the bigs. My wife thought he looked a little like K-Fed (Britney Spears’ ex-husband) for reason. Of course, she also suspected that Rob Mackowiak was Langerhans trying to sneak back into the bigs in disguise. Glad to hear he’s doing well.

Do you know any info about Brett Boone because he was playing here in columbus and i havent seen him in the box score lately. you seem like a distinguished nats fan

Boone was placed on the Temporary Inactive List 4/18

Not sure why, although I remember he was saying during Spring that he it was Bigs or nothing for him. He’s certainly had a fine major league career, and I can see where he might prefer retirement to playing in the minors again.

yea thats what i thought. I think the only way he got in the system anyway is because of his dad.
