Writing on the wall for Lenny?

There have been some rumblings in the Nat-o-sphere that Lenny might really be on the way out after this season, with AAA Columbus hitting coach Rick Eckstein joining the major league club. His big success this year was Ryan Langerhans; he helped RL shorten his swing, and we've seen the improvement in the stats.

Saw this yesterday...

I wonder if they have Lenny Harris showing Eckstein around in one of those awkward, “So you’re the one who’ll replace me” situations?…

Will DC fans have to settle for a hitting coach as the only September call-up? I kid I kid. But seriously, who’s coming to DC in Sept…

If Ryan Langerhans is Eckstein’s claim to fame…Uh…well Langerhans definitely hitting better than he was in ATL or in his first games with DC…

Everything I say is a "little" sarcastic.

Just sayin'...

…RL’s OPS+ in 07 was a craptacular 55, and this year it’s hovering around 100. He’s not going yard much, but his strike outs are down by about a third, and his walks are up by more than half. This is the sort of stuff a hitting coach teaches you. Geez, look at what they did with Ryan Church over in NY! Some of that was a good year, but a big chunk was changing approach at the plate: coaching. Is Lenny the only one to blame? Are the players being knuckleheads? Are his contributions buried in the tide of injuries, low BABIPs, and bad luck? I don’t know. Small ball is good fun, but walks and XBH win games in the long run. No, I don’t know what my point is.

Hey, Doghouse...

Sorry to go off-topic, but have you heard anything about the DC weather this weekend? Was planning on heading down for the Braves’ series, but I see nothing but rain all weekend in the forecasts? Any info would help. Thanks.

Partly cloudy with chance of showers and T-storms...

…looks like there might be spotty rain around game time Friday and Saturday, but I don’t think it’ll be ‘raining all weekend.’ At least, I hope not—I have tickets to Friday’s game! Speaking of which, I gotta motor for tonight’s game—I may have a Special Report later.

Thanks for the COMPLETE forecast...that's why I asked...

All you get from the five-day forecast’s online is a numerical temp and a picture of rain…that’s not enough, dernit!!

Special REPORT? WHAT WHAT! IS Teddy gonna win? Is Big Head Teddy accepting the nomination tonight? Or is he McCain’s VP?

Everything I say is a "little" sarcastic.
