Nationals Fire Everyone On Coaching Staff Except Acta, St. Claire...

According to this Chico Harlan post at the Nationals Journal entitled, "Breaking News: All of Acta's Assistants Gone, Except St. Claire," the Nationals sort-of cleaned house today, letting Tim Tolman (3B), Jerry Morales (1B), Pat Corrales (Bench) and Rick Aponte (BP) go. Manager Manny Acta and Pitching Coach Randy St. Claire remain...No word on whether Acta will be choosing the replacements..."Teflon Randy" St.Claire, who survived the Expos/Nationals transition, makes the cut again...More News As It Surfaces...

I see they also fired the conditioning coach—about time! He was number two on my list after Lenny, although I didn’t know his name. (Author’s note: it was Mrs D who demanded the additional purge of Clint, although I wholeheartedly endorse that position.)

Well you can’t be suprised after loosing that many games that heads will roll. I must admit the conditioning coach caught me a little of guard but when I thought about it why not. Boone gets hurt just coming in to pinch run for Dmitri Young. It does raise some doubts about what the guy was doing, everyone was going down just walking to first seemed to be more than some guys could handle.

I don't know if the conditioning coach should take the blame for DY...

I remember the Yankees either this or last year firing their conditioning coach when everyone kept pulling hamstrings…

As for Clint? I guess if I was a season ticket holder I’d have problems with him too…and everyone at Nationals Park seems to have a problem with the t-shirt cannon people…last time I was there, the season-ticket holder next to me said, (real angrily), “She never shoots them to our section,” when the cannon shot over our heads…ahhh memories…

We absolutely need a new T-Shirt Cannon Coordinator

And if it’s supposed to be Clint, please add another FIRE CLINT vote from me. I have no beef with them shooting the T-shirts over my head, so long as the they put at least half of them in the upper deck somewhere—Clint’s reasonable t-shirt-throwing arm (he the odd fling into the mezzanine back at RFK) is fine to cover the lower bowl. If I’m going to sit through 102 losses, I want my T-shirt, dammit!
