What 2009 Baseball games are you attending?

I am curious as to what baseball games everyone will be attending in 2009 and what teams or players would you like to see play?

Do you plan to travel to see a couple of games?  New York’s new stadiums, Historic Stadiums like Wrigley Field, Fenway, even a minor league game.

LouTheBetsFan and I will be attending the Nationals home opener if possible and maybe a couple of other Nationals game and a minor league game or two; I also will be attending part of the Cubs Nationals series here in DC with my father (which has never seen a pro game).

Teams and Player that I would like to see play, I want to go up to Fenway again and see the Sox and Yanks, like to see the Rays play, and Manny who ever he decides to play for this year.

Does any one know when single game Nats tickets go on sale

As late as possible since they're desperate for Season sales...

I’m looking to take in some Spring Training action…

Opening Night next, and then I’m contemplating buying a 21-game plan to draw me down there more often…

If everyone’s going to Opening Day in DC…we should have some sort of federalbaseball.com group therapy, I mean meet-up…

I'm down with that.

That way I’ll be able to put a face on all of you beautiful people when blogging in the future.

I'll have my 41 games on the upper deck again...

…plus once or twice a year Mrs. Doghouse and I trek up to see friends in NYC, guzzle tallboys on the LIRR, and take in a Mets-Nats game.

Not to praise Jim Bowden too much...

…but right now the Nats are doing better with my money than my retirement account is! See you up in the cheap seats…

I've taken a beating as well. I don't know anyone who hasn't.

I’ll reserve judgement for how well Bowden did with your money at the end of the season. If the Nats don’t improve by 10-15 games, I’d vote in the negative.

Games I'll be attending.

Uh…Ladies and Gentlemen, I’d like to clarify something:

As you can see, Buddha (whom I’m working with right now) has already pre-empted the sarcastic remark I was about to draft. Regardless, I’ll continue.

  • Due to the fact that he can’t even spell my handle (LOUtheMETSfan) correctly I hereby will NOT be joining him for any games this year at Nationals park. (I kid)
  • Do you plan to travel to see a couple of games?

Yes, I imagine that everyone will have to travel to their respective games in some form or fashion. Unless Star Trek like teleportation has been invented, I’m assuming that everyone will have to travel to the game via car, bus, train, bike, skateboard or their own feet.

Seriously though, I’d like to see the following:

  • Nationals home opener. But seeing as how I don’t have a DVR, that would mean I would miss the Mets home opener @ Shea Citi Field on t.v. The game happens to come on during the end of the Nationals game that day. (A coin toss is probably going to decide which one I watch).
  • When the Mets come to town I will catch at least two games. I’ll probably dig deep into my pockets to pay for a darn good seat for one game (depending on who is pitching for the Mets) and I’ll go to one game in the ultra-cheap $5 area.
  • I hope to go see at least one series @ Shea Citi Field this year.
  • I’ll be attending (provided Buddha behaves) a Southern Maryland Blue Crabs game with Buddha. (GO CRUSTACEAN NATION!!)
  • Lastly I hope to attend the Padres / Cubs game in San Diego in May.
