Zimmerman v. Kouzmanoff????
Ryan Zimmerman is the best 3B in the NL by far when range is taken into consideration. But with all the throwing errors making some voters hesitate, would it be possible that a mediocre 3B like Kouz could steal the award based solely on the fact he doesn't get to the ball that often?? A Friars-fan's perspective after the jump...
Here is a post I found from a SD Padres fan blog. It's pretty interesting that one of their fans is actually backing our guy. I am more worried about feliz taking it based on the phillies success, but if a voter uses errors to help guide his decision, Kouzmanoff will definitely have a chance.

Is there a way to contact a baseball writer or my congressman to show support for Ryan Zimmerman??

"If Kouz got the other 106 balls that Zimmerman got to this year ...." 404!!!, that's a stat (don't tell anyone that those "throws" were mostly the routine ones...)

Zimm, doesn’t "boot" balls. His errors are on throws because he throws on the run so often. If Kouz got the other 106 balls that Zimmerman got to this year I have a feeling he might have made more than 3 errors.
Total Chances
1. Zimmerman (WAS) — 404
2. LaRoche (PIT) — 367
3. Feliz (PHI) — 364
4. Blake (LAD) — 333
5. Wright (NYM) — 307
(Notable) 6. Kouzmanoff (SD) — 298

Yep - if Zim doesnt win GG this year... it'll be an injustice.

No way anyone other than Zim wins this award,
but Kouz deserves some chops as an outstanding defensive third basemen.

HOF seeks Kouzmanoff's slick glove...(He only fields the balls hit right to him, of course, just like Vinny....)

Third baseman Kevin Kouzmanoff’s .990 fielding percentage is an NL record
Kouzmanoff broke the old mark of .987 by Colorado’s Vinny Castilla in 2004.

Yeah... this is what worries me.
Until I saw that article, I had no doubt Zimmerman would win.

still the fact that Zim lead all of baseball in ESPN Web Gems
by a wide margin should clinch it for him. Folks got Zim’s talents beat down their throat that way. Plus, kouz plays for the Padres and few web gems, so many missed his accomplishments. All unbiased voters with a statistical clue will all vote for Zim, whereasm, some clueless/biased voters are bound to vote for Feliz, Wright, or someone else. Lastly, for some reason I have never understood, offense plays a role in the gold glove voting. Zim has Kouz by a wide margin offensively.
Zim should win easily in my view!!

the people that vote...
watch the games everyday, so I doubt they would say that kouz is better than zimm. Who would they want to be hitting bullets down the line at with the game on the line?

gold gloves are like
the baseball equivelent of the “worlds greatest grandpa” award.
I mean if it matters to him then i guess it matters.
But cmon, its based on fielding pct, for cryin out loud:)

Fielding pct? Don't you mean RBI?
