Rumors: Washington Nationals Consider Options If Bowden Departs...
Now I want stress that this is just a rumor, but according to three separate "baseball sources" who follow the team, (yes bloggers can have anonymous sources too), rumors are surfacing about the Washington Nationals' interest in Toronto Blue Jays' Assistant GM Tony LaCava as a possible replacement for DC GM Jim Bowden should the current controversy surrounding the "skimming" of signing bonus for Latin American players force Bowden to leave his position. One source reached out to me, and the other two simply confirmed that they'd heard the same rumors floating around, so take it for what it's worth...Some quick googling will show that Nationals' Team President Stan Kasten has history with Mr. LaCava, so this isn't out of the realm of possibility...Again it's just a rumor, but there are enough whispers out there that I thought I'd share...
More later...

!OH Happy Day!
Rumours, sources, conjecture etc always lead to concrete actions, right! Oh, I like these rumours.
My source ( my 16yr old son) says, " Who’s Jim Bowden, again." To which I say, “Exactly, who is he indeed!” Brian at NFA has got a run down on some prospective GM’s. Go have a looksy…
Understand your doubts, I heard this yesterday, but waited until 2 other people said the same...
…like I said, just a rumor, take it for what it’s worth…

...and let's not forget the Blue Jays rumors.
Page down to “Monday: A Nationals Disaster”
Knowing Kasten, it’s likely that commissioner Bud Selig has ordered him to stay in Washington and clear up the mess. The owners of the Nationals, the Lerner family, have shown themselves to be way over-matched in the baseball business and there are whispers around baseball that the erstwhile Expos franchise is once again causing Selig’s office more than its share of concern. Wonder if Bud’s pining for the days of Claude Brochu?

i don't think anyone
is pining for Claude Brochu! :-)

I’d like to see them hire Paul DePodesta if Bowden gets the hook

Bloggers can have anonymous sources too.
Dear boy, you’ve just opened up Pandora’s box.
I’ve stuck my foot in my mouth so many times and made so many mistakes here and elsewhere that there’s no way on God’s green earth that I would spew unsubstantiated fluff from a source. But hey, that’s just me. I don’t know too many reputable people. :-)

i loves me some anonymous sources
:-)
it’s logical that LaCava’s name is popping up. he has history with Kasten in Atlanta, he’s in Toronto now where Kasten obviously is tight with Beeston, and LaCava is on the “short list” anyway when it comes to GM candidates.
