(ed. note -- "Sorry, my long-winded rant replaced my game thread for today...so...Don't like the look of the Nick-less lineup, but let's see what Dunn can do at first...Will he make an error? How about Dukes batting 5th? Is this your Nick Johnson-less '09 lineup...?)

Astros' lineups not quite the same w/out El Caballo or the Big Puma...

(Big Puma = worst nickname in baseball)…

Hunter Pence’s close to bopper status, but that’s it…(uh, oh yeah, you too Aaron Boone, yeah we all remember the HR against Boston…)

The players themselves might not like it...

…but with all last year’s injuries, I’d like to see Washington hold on to all these players…it’s not like the team payroll is too high or anything…with all the players recovering from injuries, I think they’d be a lot more valuable to other teams after proving they’re healthy…

If forced to guess...I just can't count on Hill making it...

So I’m thinking Collin Balester and Jordan Zimmermann…I think the Nationals want the kids to succeed in a way to let everyone know that their system’s producing players, so Zimmermann’s gonna be given every chance to earn the spot, and Balester earned it last year in my eyes…

Hill – spot starts, relief work
Bergmann – long relief
Chacin – long relief?

Hill

I think we should use Hill in relief but start him only in games before off days so the pen can work long if needed. They need to baby him all year until his forearm starts to tingle again.

Remember when.

The couple days after we unloaded LoDuca and Felipe. We had Bonifacio and Gonzalez up the middle and we had a couple amazing games hitting and in the field. Then Alberto gets hurt and Bonifacio started swinging for the fences.

Box Score..

Looking at the box score I see the Stros started their B team today. The good news no matter who we’re playing is, but our pitchers have given up three hits in 14 innings.
