Bowden resigns! Bowden resigns! Bowden resigns!
That "resign," not "re-sign." I popped up the link after the reading the first sentence, I'm sure it'll be all over the Nat-o-sphere soon enough.
Edited to add: Quickly skimming the article, I offer this quick paraphrase:
Bowden: The lying press falsely accused me of things of which I am innocent [ed note: like the DC franchise W/L totals?], so I have to quit. Did I mention that the press are big poopie-heads?
Nats: [*Whew*!] Er, great guy, I mean--good game.

I have to give props to LOUtheMetFan...
…I didn’t see that he had a FanShot up almost half an hour before me on this very topic. Good catch, sir!

ESPN
If A-Rod breaks a fingernail, we get a breaking news interruption.
A GM of a franchise resigned, and on ESPN News, there is nothing.
Now…in depth coverage on ESPN SportsCenter? Nope. They read his statement and moved on.
I guess it’s a good thing. Every news outlet thinks so little of this team that they don’t heartily cover the good or the bad.

This is good...
…not bad! I’m annoyed that they won’t cover it.

Honestly, I don’t think I could give less of a sh*t what ESPN thinks/does. It’s too good of a day to care.

Cover it, don't cover it let's move on...
No offense to anyone who thinks this is a big enough story, cause it is, but it was dropped when it was so that everyone was home sleeping, or out with their families (alone? I’m with you single people!!), but anyway, this Sunday dismissal just lets Mr. Bowden walk away quietly…so that it’s yesterday’s news by the time it hits the papers Monday…

Finally.
I’m not too optimistic that it came down to a near-indictment to get him out as GM (I don’t like what that indicates), but the end result works.
