Shawn Hill Released
Shawn Hill will probably always have "oft-injured pitcher" in front of his name, but he'll no longer have the word "Nationals."

Thanks, Jon!
I’m stuck at work and was hoping someone would put up a post I could promote…
I guess the Nationals were waiting to see if he was healthy before they released him…uh…that doesn’t make sense…
Oh, well. Like Beimel though!!!

Beimel
Randy St. Claire will need to take a xanax to make himself not fiddle with his delivery. He throws more across his body than anybody in the history of the universe.
Great numbers though. Glad he’s here.

Man relaeasing Hill is sure to come back and hurt THIS SEASON.
I have no doubt.
Go read what they are saying on the MEts, Braves, and Phillies sites. They are begging their GM’s to sign him and keep him a few months until healthy.
I am starting to realize just how cheap our owners really are…. 10 hill starts are better than 30 Cabrera starts any day. Plus, Hill cost a third of Cabrera.
Yeah, but keeping him until he's healthy has been the line since '04-'05...
As a big fan of Hill’s it’s hard to say, but it just seemed like whenever he was about to really breakthrough he’d go down again…and again…I think it’s time for Balester, Martis or Zimmermann to get a shot…same with Bergmann going to the pen…you had a shot to claim a spot as your own, now these kids are ready…

I do not miss the days of Ray King and Mike Stanton.

I hope your right,
but Baelster does not appear ready
Check out his spring stats.

Era is high 6.65, he is giving up homers, but most importantly he is walking all kinds of guys and not missing many bats. He has never shown that he can strike out twice as many as he walks. 2x is the bare minimum to be able to start and have any chance to succeed in MLB as a starter. Plus, giving up twiced the homers this spring than the rest of the squad does not give me confidence.
The Nats save another half million dollars for the STRASBURG FUND.
Of course, Beimel cancels out the Hill savings and then some, but he becomes the only bullpen arm that I really trust. Saooool and Hanrahan will try to earn our trust come April. Colome…Hinckley…Mock…What about them? I just want consistency. (The good consistency)

Thank you for for specifying "the good consistency."
I was about to point out that the bullpen was plenty consistent last season…
