The WBC is a joke anyway. All of the asian teams are already half-way into their seasons whereas the other teams are coming off their offseason and haven’t even picked up a baseball in months.

Here's an idea.

Conduct the WBC at the end of September. There will be eight teams that cannot send players to the WBC because they will be in the playoffs. That will be more than enough to put up a great USA team and they will be playing as “if” they were in the playoffs.
