I contributed quotes to an article by Eric Rosenhek, a writer at The Good Point.com for an article entitled, "The Washington Nationals: Five Years Later", and Mr. Rosenhek just published it this morning.

Since I can't post it over there
The original Washington AL club won three pennants – 1924, 1925, 1933. They won it all in ’24 and a I have seen a 1924 flag flying at Nationals Park.

I assume the thinking is that writing...
as Mr. Rosenhek does, “…the Senators could only manage two AL pennants and one World Series title in 60 seasons”…takes for granted that you’d have to win the pennant to win the WS at that point in time. whereas the ’25 and ’33 teams were just pennant winners, but I see your point.

"Somewhat cultish" fanbase?
I’m only letting you get away with that because you’re the high priest.

there was a second part to that line...

...but it didn't make it that much better...
