Now just make your way over to the Phone Booth
and procure a ticket from an alternative vendor out front :-)

Might look into that since I'm literally around the corner...
Vivian Jaffe: "Have you ever transcended space and time?"

Pick a bar near Fst and rock the red...Go Caps!!! if you're Rangers fan stay at the bar...just kidding...
Man, fifteen years as a Caps fan (I am not a newbee I promise) and I feel like finally it’s all coming to fruition. I can’t wait for this feeling with the Nats!!!
Well
At least you didn’t lose.
I want to thank the good Lord for making me a Philip Rivers fan.

Stressing the positive, I like it...
Why couldn’t there at least be a Strasburg start tonight…I wonder if they show the hockey games on the huge screen out front of the Verizon Center…maybe I’ll stand in the rain and watch the Playoffs…

You didn't mentioned the callup...
…of Berna! Dina! (clap, clap, clapclapclap)
He won’t hit any better, but he can catch like TAWH.
"We’re all neighbors in NatsTown™!" --NNN
CHONE sez: Harris +9 runs in CF, Bernadina is... OUCH! -7...
By comparison, Lasto is 10. That surprises me-I would have expected Bernie to be better. Ugh, does this mean I have to start learning how to do defensive stats?
"We’re all neighbors in NatsTown™!" --NNN
Wow, and now I got the mystery strikethru!
That should read “Lasto is -10 runs”
"We’re all neighbors in NatsTown™!" --NNN
Is it possible CHONE is completely wrong about Rogearvin?
by cat daddy3000 on Apr 15, 2009 10:50 PM EDT up reply actions
Could be--it's probably projecting off of his limited time in the majors last year
His fielding runs above average per season in CF is 23, based on 2008-in which he played only 108 innings in 14 games as a CFer. He didn’t have a stellar run in his time in the bigs last year, and those are the only hard stats we have to go on.
"We’re all neighbors in NatsTown™!" --NNN
Okay, comments are screwy about the minus sign...
Bernie’s fielding runs should be “-23” above; the strikethru was unintentional.
"We’re all neighbors in NatsTown™!" --NNN
I liked the copy and paste lineups that always had Kearns by “accident”…

Don't count on me fielding anything. My Dad could never get me to stop...
flinching when I went to field balls. I was afraid the ball would hit my glasses. Add that to the fact that I batted .025 in Babe Ruth while standing 4’6", the coach knew I could run so he got me to to lower my batting stance to get more walks… I was alot better at Cross Country, thank goodness, but never stop loving baseball.
He made one error in CF last year, and I assume that screwed the stats there.
Lots of negative numbers I don’t understand, but his LF numbers were positive. As long as he goes in LF as a defensive replacement, it will be an upgrade. And maybe get some starts in CF to rest Dukes or let Dukes play RF at times.

Padres and Mets on ESPN2 I believe
We’ll try to sweep them away so they don’t get too far ahead for you. I know Steven’s next home start is on the 24th but I think he might have another one this weekend.
I want to thank the good Lord for making me a Philip Rivers fan.

What do we think about tonight's cancelled lineup?
2B Anderson Hernandez
1B Nick Johnson
3B Ryan Zimmerman
LF Adam Dunn
CF Elijah Dukes
RF Austin Kearns
C Jesus Flores
SS Alberto Gonzalez
P Shairon Martis
AndyHands gets leadoff by default, since he’s the fastest (well, Dukes has too much power to lead off). Interesting to see NJ at #2—he has the highest OBP when he’s seeing the ball, in spite of the slow feet.
"We’re all neighbors in NatsTown™!" --NNN
Think Nick's #2 for OBP compensation? Since Hernandez's career .283 OBP is loooooow...
Hernandez’s 408 OBP in 28 games last season would get the job done…Nick’s going to have to step it up…I just can’t believe that we’re already fielding the half-injured roster…and as many have noted…there’s still no room for Willingham…

Two days in a row without losing a game
When does Johnson get hurt ??? Is it like Lost where The Nationals roster is on a big record platter and then there’s a flash, and NJ is hurt again, talking with Richard about how he must bring back the ones who escaped the “Island of the Non-Injured”?
Stop trying to spoil LOST for people...
This year, just imaging Nick Johnson on the Island, no harm will come to him…

Any idea for when tonight's game is due to be rescheduled?
I’ve got 4 tickets that some friends purchased but couldn’t make use of due to the rainout.

Well, no double header on Thursday...and Zimm(n) is pushed to Monday night.
I ended up Rocking the Red tonight. Bummer about the loss.
Why couldn’t the Nats just steal the blueprints for Slapshot the eagle?
They went with "I Was A" Teenage Screech instead...
…and he really has a limited supply of dance moves…

What are the odds he begins 1)sleeping in till 12pm...
2) Pissing off his parent with his bad attitude..
Can you tell I’ve got two teenage boys? Good luck Stan….
So...MLBTR said it's possible the White Sox may want Willie Harris to play CF...
Anybody know if they have an extra 2B or starting pitcher they’d want to unload? I’m sure it’s just a writer looking for something to say to start people talking.
The Sox want him back, huh? Dewayne Wise just got hurt...(Monday=just)...
That definitely is not the outfielder I thought would get dealt…

Ed...when are you heading back to the land of Bon Jovi?
I would miss TAWH, but the Nats could maybe get a piece of the puzzle, and Willie could make the playoffs. Such a good guy.
Waking up early and going back to "Slippery When Wetsville"...
…decided to hang around today and see some stuff since I didn’t get to see baseball today…

He’s really not working hard enough as it is tbh…
"Baseball is like church. Many attend; few understand."
Manny
From the Post…
Acta, in his first public comments since the Milledge decision was made Tuesday, backed the company line, though perhaps with the slightest tinge of regret.
“You can take it any way you want — whether [it was] a message or not,” he said. “I think we’re just trying to help the team put the best guys out there right now. It really does help that we do have the depth now, and options. And we’re not doing very well. So I guess we did what we had to do.”
Acta said he attempted to call Milledge after the decision was made, but got his voicemail.
“Lastings is going through what a lot of players go through, where they go down at times like this,” he said. “We’re still . . . I’m still a big fan of Lastings. I think Lastings is going be a good player. I told him on the message that I was pulling for him, and I’m anticipating him being up here again and making a contribution.”

The Nats better win soon...
PTI is now on their case. I watched it last night and they did over/under…5 more games for Manny Acta. Both hosts said OVER. (unless they lose 5 more games in a row of course)
DO NOT TRADE NICK JOHNSON!!
DO NOT FIRE MANNY ACTA!!!

Question...
What does everybody think about Manny Acta as a manager?
====
-I think he doesn’t get all he can out of his players.
-I feel like he acts submissive toward the players, especially pitchers. Like he feels guilty to pull a pitcher. Looks down at the ground like he’s apologizing to them. Bad.
-I think the players don’t respect him.
-I get the feeling like all this calm, self-help book reading, false confidence is going to explode one day not unlike the SERENITY NOW episode of Seinfeld.
-Plus, by now, every player on the team should be able to bunt.
What am I missing? What is he doing well? What will make him successful? (For once, I’m not being sarcastic…really curious)
