Washington Nationals Add Reliever Logan Kensing To Bullpen In Trade With Marlins.
According to MLB.com's Bill Ladson, the Washington Natonals optioned Jason Bergmann to the minors and moved Roger Bernandina from the 15 to the 60-day DL to make room for the newest member of the DC Bullpen, Logan Kensing, who was acquired from the Florida Marlins for Nationals' Minor League pitcher Kyle "Marge" Gunderson.
Kensing, a 26-year-old right-hander, was a 2nd Round pick by the Marlins in 2003 out of San Antonio, Texas. So far in his major league career, in parts of 6 seasons, Kensing's (7-8) with 5.21 ERA in 133.0 IP.

This isn't even a band-aid.
This is the best they can do to shut the media up for a couple days? Come on. Why bother. Hell, maybe he’ll be lights out and just needs a change of scenery…or maybe our top notch scouts saw a flaw in his delivery. We see how that works for all the other bullpen pitchers.
I guess this is how I’m gonna be today. Acting out. Enraged. Turning green. Growing Muscles. Clothes ripping….AARRRGGgg.
Gunderson may be a 48th rounder but...
He was a nice minor league reliever (HiA)…I don’t know how he would of done in AA or AAA, but is Kensing worth the chance. Darn!!! The next wave a grade d players will come as soon as players opt out of the minor contracts I’ve read. So, we haven’t seen the last of his type by a long shot….
Meh. I would've kept Gunderson...
…heck, let him close.

Kensing is a strikeout guy, but did they need to send Bergmann out for him. i don’t understand why they don’t give Bergy a shot here. Rivera hasn’t been any better since he was brought back. just don’t get it, that’s all.

Didn't Rivera have to go through waivers the first time and Bergy still has options...
…maybe they figured Rivera wouldn’t make it through waivers again…
Who is going to pickup Rivera on waivers?
Doesn’t seem like much of a risk to me.

No love for Bergmann, then let him go pitch somewhere else...

Shell and Ledezman were subject to waivers...
i’m pretty sure Rivera had an option, which would be good all season now that they’ve invoked it.

Those stats aren't promising. Ho-hum.
Mets lost today. Oh? The bullpen squandered another win? The more things change (Putz), the more things stay the same. The only thing I have to look forward to this week is seeing Zimmerman pitch while I’m seated in Sec. 128 Friday night.
