This just in...Washington Nationals Trim Roster as Opening Day Approaches

Per the team's press release:

WASHINGTON NATIONALS OUTRIGHT KORY CASTO AND MIKE O’CONNOR TO TRIPLE-A, PLACE TERRELL YOUNG ON 15-DAY DISABLED LIST

The Washington Nationals announced that infielder Kory Casto and left-handed pitcher Mike O’Connor have cleared waivers and been outrighted to Syracuse of the Triple-A International League.  The club also placed right-handed pitcher Terrell Young on the 15-Day Disabled List, retroactive to March 27, with right shoulder inflammation.

Nationals Assistant General Manager and Vice President of Baseball Operations Mike Rizzo made the announcements.

Star-divide

This pretty much ensures that Wil Nieves and Josh "The" Bard will both be on the opening day roster.

It'll be a short stay for one of them though, as they'll have to make room for Jordan Zimmermann on April 19.

Whats this warning thing about impersonating JB ? Who would do that and why is it funny? Remember, the “Son of Gil” lives

Thought you'd like that warning....

Vivian Jaffe: "Have you ever transcended space and time?"
Albert Markovski: "Yes. No. Uh, time, not space... No, I don't know what you're talking about."

Wil Nieves

Has he finally figured out that he’s not a power hitter? That is what has killed his career. He is not a 25-HR guy. If he would focus on going to the opposite field and slapping the ball into play, he would hit for a much higher average. Last year he got into the power-hitter mindset after a promising first week. That caused him to hit too many weak groundballs because he was trying to pull everything and hit homers at almost every at bat.

That walk off must have gone to his head...
