Dave Nichols from the Nationals News Network emailed to let me know that the Washington Nationals announced today that they'd finalized their 25-man roster, moving Jordan Zimmermann, Jesus Colome and Alex Cintron to minor league camp and assigning Garrett Mock and Jason Bergmann to Triple-A Syracuse according to the Nationals' Official Press Release. The Nationals also "selected the contracts" of Julian Tavarez, Wil Ledezma and Josh Bard."

"Bergmann unhappy with demotion" By Pete McElroy on April 4, 2009

http://masnsports.com/2009/04/bergmann-unhappy-with-demotion.html

“I said to Bergmann, you’re obviously not happy about that and he responded “I don’t think I should be. I have done everything that was asked of me, pitched well and obviously, mentally prepared myself to pitch in the game, to keep going forth and I had every indication that I had a good chance of making the team and those options hurt”

Asked if thought he was treated fairly he said “I can’t say either way. I sit down there in the bullpen and I don’t think about that kind of stuff. I’m just told to go in the game scheduled.”

This is the one that surprised me...Tavarez vs Bergmann? I'll take BergMANN...

Vivian Jaffe: "Have you ever transcended space and time?"
Albert Markovski: "Yes. No. Uh, time, not space... No, I don't know what you're talking about."

I don't see any advantage from Tavarez that Bergmann couldn't provide (except the option).

And, they promised Colome that he’d be back.

I’d like the see the Hammer interview again, as I thought I heard he’d worked really hard to be a better LF (probably another promise), which would explain why he’s chafed.
