Sean Rooney - C - 23-years-old - 8th Round Selection by Washington in 2006.

Last Series: 6 for 9, 3 doubles, 2 HR's and 5 RBI's in 3 games against the Winston Salem Dash, May 8-10.

Francisco Plasencia - OF - 24-years-old Undrafted free agent signed by Milwaukee in 2000. Joined DC franchise in 2005.

Potomac Pitchers...

• Brad Meyers - Top ERA in Carolina League. Washington Nationals' 5th Round Pick in 2007, RHP, 23-years-old, '09 stats - (3-0), 1.16 ERA after 31.0 IP in which he's K'd 24 and walked 4.

• Erik Arnesen and Jeff Mandel are third and fourth in ERA as of 5/11/09.

• Brad Meyers' WHIP is also currently a Carolina League best 0.84 in 5 G, 4 GS 31.0 IP.

UPDATES:

On Monday, according to an article by Dan McGinn at the P-Nats' official site entitled, "Erik Arnesen promoted to Harrisburg", the 25-year old right-hander is on his way to Double-A, earning a promotion after, Mr. McGinn writes, "...six starts for Manager Trent Jewett's ballclub, (in which) Arnesen went 4-1 with 2.23 ERA with 23 strikeouts compared to just seven walks in 32.1 innings pitched."

Another article by Dan McGinn at the P-Nats' site entitled, "Meyers named pitcher of the week", reports that Potomac's 23-year-old right-hander, Brad Meyers was named the Carolina League's Player of the Week for May 4-10.

Chris Marrero - 20-year-old IF/OF, Washington's 1st Round pick, 15th overall in '06. '09 stats - 29 G, .306 AVG, 7 2B, 3 HR's, 15 RBI's, .367 OBP, .454 SLG, .820 OPS.

The Potomac Nationals welome the Salem Red Sox for the first of three games at home in Pfitzner Stadium starting Tuesday at 11:00am EST. 

P-Nats now 19-11. (Tied For 1st in Carolina League's Northern Division.)
