Just had me a half smoke, it’s still raining but not too bad, and the tarp is still on. At least it’s not freezing and we get to watch the astros and braves on the big screen.

At least they're keeping you entertained...

Vivian Jaffe: "Have you ever transcended space and time?"
Albert Markovski: "Yes. No. Uh, time, not space... No, I don't know what you're talking about."

Thanks for the update.

Decided to head to the smithsonian to not waste the trip downtown, and it’s not even raining anymore! At least I got my iphone!

The Presidential Portrait gallery was my choice during the last rainout...

Home now. Ended up checking out the Air and Space museum and catching an IMAX movie.

They announced the postponement about 10 minutes after the grounds crew took away all the equipment (on deck circle “rubber”, batter box template, etc.). You would have hoped that the announcement be made fairly quickly after the decision to postpone was made, but obviously they waited at least 10 minutes. And then not 20 minutes after the announcement it stopped raining… and when I left the museum at 5:30 it was still not raining. Like Roscoe said… we just can’t catch a break.

We might catch a break later in the week, if you get my drift... ;)

…uh, I’m talking about skipping Cabrera…

Makeup game...

If they can’t find a date to play the game in DC, they could play it in St. Louis as part of a doubleheader and the two teams would split the gate. One commenter on the article said, that would probably benefit the Nats due to our low attendance.

If that happens...

…the title of my post will be, “At Home On The Road”, I just want to claim that weak-a$$ attempt at cuteness months before anyone else!!!

Strasburg

Quote from Tony Gwynn…(I hope this isn’t an old quote)

What if Strasburg was to somehow slip to the Padres at No. 3? I asked Gwynn where Strasburg would fit into the Padres’ rotation if he joined the team this summer.

“Three,” said Gwynn, who would put Strasburg right behind Jake Peavy and Chris Young.

“If he went to Seattle, he’d be three.

“If he goes to Washington, he’d be one.”

RIGHT NOW?!

“That’s how I look at it,” said Gwynn. “Now he’s still got stuff he’s got to learn. He’s got to challenge the strike zone a little bit more at the big-league level.”

Rats

• Roy Oswalt didn’t have as pleasant an experience in the wet Atlanta weather, throwing only 17 pitches before a one-hour, 37-minute rain delay forced manager Cecil Cooper to turn to his bullpen. Oswalt has been moved up in the rotation to Tuesday and will get to face the Washington Nationals.
