This from NJ...stuff to pass the time

Should this game be suspended, Ryan Zimmerman’s hit streak would stand in limbo. Yep, even though Zimmerman tallied a single in the sixth and another in the eighth, neither will count officially until the game is completed.

So Zimmerman would enter tomorrow’s game at Los Angeles riding a 22-game hitting streak, same as he was when he woke up this morning.

Say Zimmerman were to continue his streak tomorrow and the next game and the next game, all the way until it reached 43 games (one shy of Pete Rose’s National League record). Then say Zimmerman’s streak was halted at 43 games. There would still be a chance he could tie the record months from now or at whatever point this game were completed.

Wierd, huh? But, of course, this is all hypothetical for the time being.

It's done for today.

They just announced that the game will be completed — in Houston — on June 9 when the Nats are there for a series. How weird is that?

But the rain looks like it’s here for a while and the Nats have to fly out to LALA so they can’t wait around forever.

I just peaked at the Astros' blog --

 — and they sound as upset with their bullpen as we do.

The recap is titled: Rode Hard and Put Up…Runs: The Astros Bullpen. LOL.

Still, none of their relievers has BALKED in a run the way Hanrahan did a few games back.

One thing positive for tomorrow: Cabrera’s ERA is lower than Kershaw’s and they have identical records to date.
Can the Nats be the FIRST team to beat the Dodgers at home, she asked with a mostly serious face.

Nats option RHP Rivera to minors; Beimel off DL

WASHINGTON (AP) The Washington Nationals are optioning right-hander Saul Rivera to Triple-A Syracuse to make room on the roster for lefty reliever Joe Beimel’s return…

Rivera was 0-3 with a 9.28 ERA in nine appearances entering Tuesday, when he threw one perfect inning.
