John Lannan - "Saint" more into the video aspect...likes to talk video, statistical analysis, McCatty is more about feel and what you see...Couldn't ask for a better pitching coach than they have now.

Detwiler - My problem was giving up hits, was throwing strikes early, but (strikes were) too good, needs to throw more quality strikes...
Zimmermann - Problem is he gets ahear 0-2 and makes too good a pitch, throws it over the plate instead of wasting one...
Any Draft Day Memories?
Stammen - It was one of those deals where I was just happy to be drafted, and get the opportunity to play major league baseball.
Zimmermann - Really excited, didn't take too long to sign, a week or so, and headed right to Vermont...
Detwiler - Had no idea where I was going, when he heard it was the Nationals he was pretty excited, knowing he could come up quicker in DC.
Lannan - Happy to be drafted, and get going and start professional career.
Any Advice For Strasburg?
Stammen - Stay humble, keep a level head and keep working hard, doing what he's been doing...
Injury for Jordan Zimmermann?
Zimmermann - Elbow is just fine, a little tired, be ready to go on Saturday. (No lingering effects?) - Nothing.

Very Winable game for the Nats
Harang has a tendency to get lite up from time to time and it’s very possible Dunn takes him deep tonight. In something like his last 9 starts he has allowed a HR. Lets hope the trend continues tonight.
So this will be the one of three they usually manage...

I have to figure they already have the money in the budget for Kearns' contract.
They might as well keep him if they can get more for NJ.
On the other hand, if financials are so tight they need to trade Kearns to have a shot at signing Strasburg ….well, first off I don’t believe that, and secondly that’s a different ballgame. I don’t think they’re the same budget, anyway.

Just saw the highlights from last nights game.
NO WAY that is a strike 3 to Kearns… the strike 3 to Dunn looked closer on TV than on Gameday (that nasty slider looked like is was closer to catching the plate).
Man, when its bad…its really bad.

I could see why the slider to Dunn was called a strike it fell through/across zone, fell way out...but the Kearns K was not a strike...

…worst of the rain seems to be passing/just past the park right now. There’s a long tail of “light green” behind it, but they might be able to resume play in light rain afterward. BTW, I know the Nats attendance has been down most because of their play, but the weather HAS to have something to do with it. If it’s not an unseasonably cold day (early in the season) it’s a horribly rainy day (recently).
