Loverro: Dibs is a punk
Yes, I'm wildly overstating Thom's critique, which basically boils down to, "tell us something we don't know." (I'd add, "stop talking about the Quality Start stat until you understand what it means.") At this point I'd much rather argue about Dibbler than try to guess the exact time Manny gets fired.

My guess is 2:17 pm EST...oh you don't want to guess, sorry! As for Mr. Dib--

Why are people so down and Dibs? I love his style and fresh take on what he sees...
…getting stuck on the stats and other crap does nothing but mire the game down. Stats and all are tools and not the game themselves. When you get lost in the what the stats predict situationally from a moment to a moment you lose the feel of the game. Oh well…I’ll take back my 2 cents…
Sorry, Berndaddy, no refunds, leave the pennies!!

Machismo.
To the exclusion of anything else, up to and including brains.

I don't think Dibs will be back next season...
…just a gut feeling.
Ed probably got to listen to Kevin Kennedy during the Rays games over the weekend. I watched the Rays-Angels games during last week and loved Kennedy. The more I hear Dibble’s act, the older it gets. OK, we get it, the strike zone is small.
"Tell us something we don't know..."
Dibs has some things going for him: he can speak to being a pitcher, and how to play the game; he has an engaging (if, at times, brash) style and “says what we’re all thinking” to an extent. But Thom’s complaint (that Dibs is disputing to an extent? It’s hard to tell) is that Rob isn’t “reporting” enough. Sure, he’s the color guy, not a reporting, but keeping on the pulse of the team, talking to the players and coaches … we all what to get more impressions about what’s going on. I don’t get to hear the MASN broadcast every game—I’m usually on the radio (dammit, Verizon! hurry up with the FIOS!), but even so I’m noticing some repetition, “…we get it, the strike zone is small.” Is Dibs just using the same, somewhat limited, stock of material? Will he get old by the end of the season? He’s more interesting to listen to than Sutton, but Sutton had more interesting stuff to say, if that makes sense.
We are all jinxed in NatsTown™.
There's also:
“the umps hate the Nats and have it in for them”
“you need to pitch more like a man”
“walking is for wusses”

I don't have anything against Dibble, I get him about half the time on MLB.tv, but I'm usually multi-tasking...
…ie not paying attention to announcers, but he’s honest if a bit brash, and he’s the only until The RZO’s parting quote, who told the truth about Daniel Cabrera…remember him?

But...to agree with the newspaper guy's point, we all already knew DC was a joke. Wasn't fresh info.
Roscoe I prefer to say sad not a joke. You can see the light at the end of the tunnel...
..but it’s just way to the heck over there and looks like a pin point.
I think the tunnel's not even built yet...still blasting through the mountain.
At the beginning of this season I felt like the Nats had a shot at being a .400 to .500 team this season. Who knew Olsen would suck. Figured DC could win maybe 30% of his games. Maybe 15 for Lannan and a handful from the bullpen…and a rookie could step up.
I errantly thought last year was the darkest and this year would be the dawn. UGH. Wrong.
Roscoe let put on our shades and sing out like Ray Charles..
…now he made a living in the dark and made it a positive. I know just work with me, man it’s hard being a fan of this team….
