The Nats have some serious issues
I am friends with Clip and this was a team screw up. He was in Washington today sat in a hotel room and they already sent him back. He has been your best reliever in the minors all year, and it has been your team’s biggest issue. I live in Tampa, and watching them get swept by the Rays after leading every game late almost made me feel borderline sorry for you guys. It must just be gut-punch after gut-punch. What a train-wreck.

ed mentioned that the "press gentlemen" would have an announcement on Colome last night...
Then there was nothing more reported….. I hope Clippard didn’t have to drive himself to DC….

It’s unfortunate. Clip will be back soon I hope…they really need to dump Kip Wells.

Looking forward to seeing Clip
We’ve been waiting to see him in the big leagues all season – i’m hoping he can come in and do the job and be in the bullpen for many years to come.

Can't blame the B-man for this one...

poor clip
I don’t know what they are waiting on, maybe they have hope with the last two series our bullpen has turned the corner. I’m still a little scared. Hanrahan at a minimum belongs down in the minors until he improves.

Ladson
Said today that the FO predict he’ll be called up soon…. that earlier in the season they thought he was getting away with not enough first pitch strikes.
Sounds like St Claire talk to me! Give the kid the ball

The FO is/was probably awaiting an injury to force their hand, and for some reason, don't want to lose Kip Wells' 6.26 ERA and 1.52 WHIP....
Saving the crafty veteran for end of season innings when the kids are done? Or, 1st pick draft guarantee?
Wells’ Flaws: “His stamina has always been in question, rarely able to last beyond the sixth inning (as a starter). As the season goes on, his command starts to disappear.”

He doesn't have options, or I imagine he would be.
Still, after a successful and hitless/walkless/no wild pitch 1.2 innings on Friday night…. Then, the inherited runner blown save on Saturday (why bring him in with RISP?), Manny airs him out on Sunday to kill whatever good vibe he had from Friday with 3 days in a row….
