Nationals News (and Around the League)
Nationals News
-The Nationals offer Lastings Milledge for Nyjer Morgan straight up, but the Pirates aren't sold on the deal.
-Ryan Langerhans, lost in a sea of outfielders in Washington, has been traded to the Mariners for Mike Morse, whom the Nats are listing as an infielder.
-Manny Acta shifted the batting order in yesterday's game against the O's, moving R. Zimm to cleanup and putting Willie Harris first, with Guzman and Johnson second and third. Of course, the Nats won that game, so we'll see if it sticks.
-Adam Dunn bombed one 445 feet in yesterday's win over the Orioles.
-The Rays beat the Marlins, 5-2, completing a three game sweep.
-Tommy Hanson moved to 4-0 after defeating the Red Sox. He's pretty good.
Around the League
-Mariano Rivera joins the elite I'm-halfway-to-one-thousand club.
-The Nationals wish they could bat (but not pitch) like the Lake Elsinore Storm.
-The Rockies are now 8-2 in their last 10 games.
-Chris Getz, White Sox second baseman, stole home on a (really) wild pitch by Carlos Zambrano.

Bumbling Diamondbacks lead the majors in errors
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/06/30/AR2009063000616.html
A.J. Hinch recently ordered extra fielding practice (see, see,……does not work)
Sunday, in a five-run fifth, …Felipe Lopez let a grounder go through his legs as the Chase Field crowd of 25,684 erupted into boos.
In Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Los Angeles, the Angels’ first run came on a play typically seen on Little League diamonds. Pitcher Doug Davis fielded Erick Aybar’s bunt but had to double-clutch the throw while waiting for Lopez to cover first. Davis fired the ball behind Lopez and into foul territory behind first base.
Upton fielded the ball and then overthrew Reynolds at third base, and Aybar came around to score as the ball rolled into foul territory behind third.
This much seems certain: the Diamondbacks have paid a price for not re-signing second baseman Orlando Hudson, who won two of his three Gold Gloves with Arizona.
The Diamondbacks replaced Hudson with Lopez, who has committed nine errors in 69 games.
"The legacy that was spawned oh-so-many years ago in DC is somewhere in that line-up card each night."
