Flash-flood warning for DC through 10:30 PM...

…they interrupted the “Nats-talk live for a rain-delay ballgame” broadcast with the Emergency Alert system and everything. I’m thinking, maybe no game tonight.

Heard dugouts were flooded on McCovey...

Vivian Jaffe: "Have you ever transcended space and time?"
Albert Markovski: "Yes. No. Uh, time, not space... No, I don't know what you're talking about."

by Patrick Reddington on Jun 3, 2009 7:47 PM EDT up reply actions

And ROSCOE has ROSCOE'd out of the ballpark, says it looked "hopeless"...

Think he was talking about just tonight, not the rest of the season…

Vivian Jaffe: "Have you ever transcended space and time?"
Albert Markovski: "Yes. No. Uh, time, not space... No, I don't know what you're talking about."

Nice pic

But it looks bleak. Someone gather 2 of everything.

How about 3 of everything, don't make cat daddy choose 2 of 3 raccoons...

It's quited down here, but apparently more rain coming from WV.

Bill Ladson is on the “rain delay show” and talking serious smack about Nationals defense (and lack thereof). He cites both Adam Dunn and Josh Willingham as guys who “can’t play their position.”

Ladson's dropping truth bombs...

Speaking of bombs...

…heavy rain due in 10 minutes, for about an hour. It’s clear after that, after which team officials ‘fully expect the game to be played.’ Looks like we’re going for a pacific-time-friendly start…

"PLEASE TAKE COVER. SEVERE STORM APPROACHING."

…is apparently the message on the stadium video board (according to C&D). And apparently the Braves traded a bunch of minor league pitchers for Nate McClouth!

Gorkys Hernandez would've been nice in DC...guess Atlanta's off the Hammer/Kearns destination list...

When the hell are we going to make a trade?

There has to be one on the cards at some point…surely.

I definitely think some assets will be dealt...whenever some other team gets desperate...

I’m looking at you Mets…

At least he isnt defending them...

half the time he just says how wonderful they are. If I hear how much he likes Kearns again, Im going to amputate my leg with a spoon.

I really hated the useless meeting I attended, thinking I was missing out.......

Seems silly they can’t create double-headers more easily to deal with this, to free up a coinciding off day later.

From NJ

Nationals President Stan Kasten announced that tonight’s Nationals-Giants game will be played. Once the rain stops, he said it will take 30 minutes to fully drain the field.

“Because of the significance of the game and that people came for this game in particular, and because tomorrow afternoon looks quite problematic with rain as well, we’re going to get this game in tonight,” Kasten said. “We’re going to try very hard.”

Rain should end in about 20 minutes. 1/2 hour to get the field ready. What a load of %&#$.

So, there’s no way the Metro will be running at 2:30am. If they play this, get ready to add it to the long list of PR nightmares for the Nats front office.

Shoulda called this game at 8:30. It’s all about the Benjamins.

Hey, It's a twi-night, 2 for 1, real doubleheader...

More rare that a 300 win pitcher…..

If it wasn’t against the Nats, it would have been cool for Randy to win #300 on the day Glavine was dumped. Some people blame him for the 1994 strike…
