DC Fire Chief unilaterally cancels post-game fireworks? Come on, I've had those little specks of paper fall on my plenty of times--it's not like they're ON FIRE!

No more "Bang Zoom"? WTH? (and yes the "H" stands for Heck)

Vivian Jaffe: "Have you ever transcended space and time?"
Albert Markovski: "Yes. No. Uh, time, not space... No, I don't know what you're talking about."

i think this refers to the pre-game and home run fireworks on top of the stadium...

and not the Firday night fireworks.

frankly, this does not shock me in the slightest. paper and debris from the pre-game and home run fireworks fall into the crowd and onto the field routinely, and, as small as the possibility might be, there could be dangerous remnants in that debris.

what surprises me is that no one had complained until now.

Debris fell at RFK, too...

…it never mattered then, and hasn’t for a whole season at Nats Park. The DC fire chief is overruling his own inspector on this, who had approved it previously.

We are all jinxed in NatsTown™.

Good Luck returns to Nats Park!!!! Ban lifted...

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/06/08/AR2009060801808.html

“By yesterday afternoon, the ban was lifted. After meeting with fire officials, the team agreed to change the direction in which the fireworks are set off and the content of the explosives and make other adjustments, fire spokesman Alan Etter said. "

Oh wait, no more good luck paper from the sky for the Nats crowd…….
