Pirates have released outfielder Chris Snelling to make room on the Triple-A Indianapolis roster for the recently acquired Lastings Milledge.

Snelling was traded by Seattle with Emiliano Fruto to the Nationals for Jose Vidro.

What's Listach sending NJ for there? Made zero sense

Wait….. How can I criticize the baserunning on this team? I guess that at least they tried something aggressive.

Took perfect throw at good play by Pudge, but with one down...and hot Hammer up...it's questionable...

The one down and with Hammer coming up is why I question it

If it’s someone with speed, I’d understand…. Nick Johnson probably would’ve beaten Cecil Fielder in a race. Can’t think of too many others, though.

Oooh.... and it's the big power hitter

That’s now nine career homers for Bourn with his earlier dinger. Given that five of them happened last year, I wonder how many were cheapies in the Crawford Boxes.

Like I said up top

I give the Braves the edge even if they were the ones giving the cash. Toss in that they got some cash out of the Mets and probably got the slightly better player (though I don’t think either is particularly good) and the Braves flat-out robbed the Mets.

You know, if the nats watched just one day of the

Tour de France - especially today when they went from sea level up to the Arcalis in Andorra at about 7700 feet on the bike-over 6 hours in the saddle - and will do it again tomorrow, etc., maybe-MAYBE—maybe they’d realize that they’re not doing any work comparatively speaking.

I'm not sure a slide was really gonna help there

Looked like Willie’s best chance was to go as far into fair territory as he could without going out of the baseline. Too wide a turn at third, but you’ve gotta credit Bourn with a hell of a throw to nail him. Second good throw… this time, I think it was the right move to send a runner who at least has some speed (the other time was Nick Johnson).

i'm gonna try real hard not to curse here

but it’s unbelievably bad baseball that Listach sent Harris on that play. there was only out and it made absolutely NO EFFING SENSE to send him there. hold the runner, you’ve got first and third with one out and two shots to get that runner in. i was hopeful to just watch the end of the game and go to bed, but that play forced me to get on here.

FURTHERMORE: Dibble and Carpenter and Knight defending Listach on the play is UNCONSIONABLE. it was THE WRONG PLAY and any defense of it is completely asinine.

I wish you were right, but I fear Manny's here for the remainder of the season.

He shouldn’t be, of course. He’s lost the team. They’ve gotten progressively worse over the season — all across the board. And that’s got to be at the feel of the manager.
