• The Milwaukee Brewers are 1-5 in the last 6 starts by Jeff Suppan, and the 34-year-old right-hander hasn't won a start since June 17th when he beat the Cleveland Indians. Craig Stammen, (2-2) in July, allowed just 1 run to the Mets in his last start, which lasted 7.1 innings and saw the Nationals win 3-1 in the end.

• Washington's last road trip, through Colorado and Houston, saw the Nationals drop 5 of 6 games. The trip before that, to Baltimore and Florida, the Nationals dropped 5 for 6. Tampa Bay and New York...4 of 6 losses...You get the point...

• And Before We Get Started, A Big Thank You To The Mets, For Making DC The Second Most Embarrassing Team In The Majors Right Now!!!

TNJ!

But yeah…. I would think that. I know they’re supposedly discussing Adrian Gonzalez with the Padres, but we’re talking about a completely different class of player from either Laroche or NJ there.

If they trade Adrian Gonzalez, I won't know anyone on that team...

Heath Bell?

Wait…. they’re rumored to be discussing him, too. Jake Peavy? Well… DL. Hell. We just saw them over the weekend.

by bluelineswinger on Jul 27, 2009 9:47 PM EDT up reply actions

the problem with NJ

is that he dosent really hit for extra bases… so if he dosent get on base he really has no offensive value… I actually wouldnt mind trading him, tho, I wouldnt hate him on my team, either

by martins on Jul 27, 2009 9:47 PM EDT up reply actions

Dammit!

Another missed opportunity…. let’s see what the Giants gave up for him before I get too pissed, though I imagine NJ would have commanded a little more (not much) in return.

Mrs. D. is overcome...

…and apparently strike 3 to NJ was actually ball 1. But, as C&D point out, “That was not a good pitch right there.”

Mrs. Doghouse is a little teary-eyed.
