Easy to Digest Nationals News!

Matt Snyder makes the case for Dunn being an All-Star, rather than Zimmerman.

From Jim Bowden's Twitter: Giants working on deals for Nick Johnson, Aubrey Huff or Adam LaRoche....with that rotation.....they have a great shot for the wildcard!

Unless you've been living under a rock, you have already read too much about Nyjer Morgan. If you are one of the two DC sports fans that haven't read about him, though, it's time! I caught his interview with Johnny Hallyday after the game yesterday, and he seems like a really great guy, the kind that will bring the clubhouse together.

And I thought I was the only one who noticed... MASN's Kristen Hudak discusses the noise fans made yesterday for Scott Olsen. That's the spirit we need, Nats fans!

Nats320 has an interesting piece on Scott Olsen, yesterday's game and their relationship with Manny Acta.

Chico Harlan points out that, given the bullpen situation, Manny Acta and Steve McCatty are more willing to let pitchers stay out there as long as they can.

More not-as-interesting news after the jump...

Star-divide

Ricky Nolasco, Marlins ace turned minor leaguer turned back into Marlins ace, threw an incredible game yesterday, striking out twelve and getting the win against the Pirates.

Randy Johnson appears to haves injured his shoulder after being taken out in the fourth. He's due for an MRI today.

You don't get a message, you just stop getting Tweets...

I can't believe the number of freaky people why try and follow my twitter...

…most of them seem like “less than honorable” dating services. I’ve blocked a lot of them.

+1, never gave up on it, even after he missed it...

Man…nobody will take Guzman’s salary for next year. His agent had a stroke of genius and signed in the middle of the season before the bottom fell out of the baseball marked.

Here's a Dirty Joe Beimel article....

I’d want to go back to the Dodgers too, so that’s fine. I like the part about his plush bathrobes from all his teams with his number on the back.

Maybe Kemp or Ethier...never have enough corner OFrs...

Dern it, I’m thinking like Bowden again…

And I agree aboot his value slipping. Johnson stinks right now. He's awful!!!

(sorry, Nick, you know I don’t mean it!)

Oh no you mustn't!!!

Vivian Jaffe: "Have you ever transcended space and time?"
Albert Markovski: "Yes. No. Uh, time, not space... No, I don't know what you're talking about."

by Patrick Reddington on Jul 6, 2009 1:31 PM EDT up reply actions

Oh, yes you must. Nick Johnson has been playing well, but the Nationals need so much more than a mediocre first baseman right now. Ship Beimel off to the Padres (he’s worthless anyway) and get a bullpen upgrade for Johnson. Dunn is not as good defensively as Johnson, but he’ll do if we can trade for some bullpen help

by John Quinn on Jul 6, 2009 2:23 PM EDT up reply actions

Next thing you know, Doghouse is going to turn on me...

Trade Beimel, trade Willie, Villone, trade Guzman (no one will take him), trade Kearns (no one will take him)…and if you want to talk about tradeable, why not trade Dunn now? Or do you think the Nationals should keep him and get picks when he inevitably goes to the AL when this deal is up?

Dunn on DC is like rain in the ocean…pointless on a 100 loss team.

(please no lectures on the water cycle)…

Vivian Jaffe: "Have you ever transcended space and time?"
Albert Markovski: "Yes. No. Uh, time, not space... No, I don't know what you're talking about."

by Patrick Reddington on Jul 6, 2009 2:37 PM EDT up reply actions

They signed Dunn sort of thinking we’d have a shot at .500 this year or next. That clearly isn’t happening. May as well move him now. I will miss the Donkey…

I think teams won’t want to pay the price for Dunn and Johnson so they will remain.

by RoscoeNats on Jul 6, 2009 3:25 PM EDT up reply actions

TRADE EVERYONE BUT ...

Zimm 1 & 2
Lannon
Flores
Detwiler
Clippard (Maybe tomorrow him, too…)
