Rocky Mountain Low. Washington Nationals Drop Three Straight In Coors Field, 10-4 To Rockies Today.
I took this one in on the radio, and I imagine it looked just as bad as it sounded. DC lefty Ross Detwiler failed to get out of the fifth, giving up two singles, a walk and a base-clearing triple before being lifted with the Nationals trailing by six. 6-0 Rockies after five. Washington ralllies for three in the seventh and one in the eighth, but the Rockies score at least one run in six-straight innings after being held scoreless through the first two. Colorado sweeps the three-game series in Coors Field. Washington now 9-32 on the road in '09. Detwiler now (0-5, 6.40). Does he stay with DC? Or is someone else from Syracuse or below going to get a chance?

Mock...
Mock’s last start was July 3. So, if he has a short start tomorrow or gets pulled out of his start, we’ll have our short term answer on Detwiler’s immediate future. The Nats could actually bring up a player for Thursday, Friday and Saturday to take a look.

Is anyone else finding it harder and harder to turn on the Nats game? I feel like I’m watching a game on DVR, where I already know how it’s going to end, it’s just a matter of how the Nats get there.

I'm honestly not sure why I'm not feeling that way, Mr. Quinn. I've watched this team/franchise lose for a long time...
…I still find myself sitting down every night when the games start and hoping it doesn’t happen again with “it” being an amusingly endless selection of ways to avoid winning…

Just think Red Sox fans aren't nearly as happy when their team wins since it happens so often. They just expect it.
We are troopers…and in DC (and Montreal) we’ve been saying for years that it’s just a year or few away.

They agonize through every win.......real unhappy with Papelbon for giving up a run, even with the save...
Cubs not happy with Soriano….. got him for 5 more years… then, the Mets…
We’re actually lucky to be able to not fall apart over the losses…

I like to find the silverlinings in every game lost.
Watching kids develope. Hey, my kids think I’m crazy for watching a lossing team. “They’re losers Dad, let us watch Ed, Edd and Eddie now, please.” There is something to the ole saying, " it’s not about the wins and loses it’s abou t how the game is played."
I can’t wait for the winning but I like following these kids up. For two years solid I’ve been following from GCL to the majors. It’s fun.

It's an adventure every game...
…how will they lose tonight? Fielding error? Baserunning error? Walks? WPs? RISP failure? Bullpen blowup? Struggling starter? Angel Hernandez being on the umpiring crew? A combination of some or all? There’s always a new way to lose in NatsTown™!
And every three or four games we win one, so that’s good, too.

I sat for half an hour trying to think of things to say about today's game, and came up with nothing...
Have moved on to trade rumors, what Rizzo’s saying, who will/won’t be moved…post something soon…
Sort-of double header tomorrow.

I'm not going that far, but I listened to most of today's game...
…and watched the last few innings and I just didn’t want to revisit it…
I’m so over the Colorado series. Everyone for right field in Houston, and stay away from the hill, Morgan!!!

I’ll never stop watching the Nats, it’s just getting harder and harder to make myself stay the entire game. I generally give them one or two big botches, and then just call it a loss and do something else. I hope the All-Star break will give them plenty of rest. \

The sad part is
That this kind of series increases the pressure to sack Manny… it also drops heads in the dugout. I kinda dont mind getting beaten if you are beaten by a better team – but beating yourself is pretty horrific. I mean, even the commentators are starting to write them off and they are generally professional enough to gloss over it. Chico’s columns are one step short of written comedy routines. It’s pretty sad. Some of these guys are playing very hard and deserve respect…but some dont (read Guzman’s craptastic effort in the field).
I’ll always watch this team too – but Im jumping on the blow-it-up-Boswell-bandwagon again.

Saw the highlight of the Dunn tag play at 1B....... He looked quite pleased with himself for making the catch and "making the play"......
At the time, he had no idea of the horrors to come…
Detwiler’s old delivery doesn’t appear to be working for him now. Lots of discussion about throwing too many fastballs……. Manny has no input into that, except to wonder why and blame the pitcher…
