Game 121: Are you BLIND, ump?!
- Good effort! Sean Burnett (+0.123), Adam Dunn (+0.105)
- Better luck next time! Jason Bergmann (-0.134), Elijah Dukes (-0.152)
- Not shown here: Dana DeMuth is a blind g0at (-0.238)
It was too hot out to lose a game to a bad call, so the Nats duly obliged by giving up a couple of extra runs. They struck out 13 tonight (MOCK'd!) and still lost (mocked!). Why do I watch this team?

In the post game, Riggles said he heard a foul tip but he was arguing that he thought Bard caught it in the air…which he clearly didn’t.
UGH
Oh, so nevermind then.........
I was watching the highlights and didn’t think the call was right on Hammer forced at second on the Dukes’ bases loaded grounder. Their third base guy made a great play, though…

Yeah, but it wasn't a foul tip. It was a swinging strike. Strike 3, I might add. MOCK'd!

That's what screwed me up. Riggles said he heard a foul tip...he was arguing the wrong thing. Dang it. FIRE RIGGLES.
KIDDING!!!
I'm totally going to erase the "KIDDING"..

NO...NO. I will reformat the hard drives that run the interwebs if you try that.
I may find a new picture for tomorrow…Master Shake’s luck ran out.
Yep, one run would not have won the game anyway....
The players are showing down the FO’s good week of news…

At least he argues!
Shows a bit of fire… even if it can be a bit misdirected/a bit Cabrera…
Padilla walked into the Nats' clubhouse for the first time and said, "My God. I'm in heaven."
Agreed.
I was at the game; I had no idea what was going on on that foul tip play, so I ran back to check one of the TVs they have there. I didn’t see it hit, but I’m just a fan.
When he came out to argue the play, I really wanted to see him get ejected, because I thought he was in the right.
But if he tipped it and Bard didn't catch it.....
If it wasn’t a foul tip, then what did Riggles and their manager hear?

Ah, now I have a clearer picture. Was Mock really all the way to the dugout?
That’s an awfully long time for that son of an ump to make the call……….

Yep, he really was.
It looked like the ump had clenched his fist for out, and people were getting up to go do whatever it is they do between innings, and then we saw the Riggler come out to argue, and then he walked back to the mound. It was awful.
I figured the next pitch would leave the park...

He appealed to first, and the first base ump (Dana DeMuth) ruled foul tip.
You know, because he saw it so clearly.

On tv, it was really confusing...
It clearly hit the dirt, but the replays kept showing that it was nearly impossible that it hit the bat. So, Riggles and TV were arguing different points. Geez…I need breakfast
Speaking of "Geez I need breakfast"...
i thought Strasburg was 21? All the MLB promo stuff says 20?

Hmmm...
Strasburg, 20, went 13-1 with a 1.32 ERA in 15 starts this season at San Diego State University en route to being named the Golden Spikes Award winner. He struck out 195 batters and issued just 19 walks in 109 innings

Someone get an editor over to the Nats’ site…

I find typos in usa today and cnn online and espn every day.

That makes me so happy.
I’ll admit, when the Nats traded him for Morgan and Burnett (I didn’t even consider Hanrahan part of that trade), I thought it was a dumb move, that it would just take Milledge a year or two to straighten his attitude out. Why did I ever doubt the RZO.
