Game 124: Happy Nationals' Blogger Day (2)

After so many exciting losses, it was nice to be ahead (almost comfortably ahead) for a whole game.  We even got treated to a successful suicide squeeze (Nyjer Morgan is everyone's hero) and an event even rarer than a Cristian Guzman walk--a Guzie dinger!  Adam Dunn padded his stats a little, too, on the march to his 6th-straight 40-HR season.

Now that's a good Fangraph!!!

It was definitely a Tony Plush game today.

A win!

Horay!

Padilla walked into the Nats' clubhouse for the first time and said, "My God. I'm in heaven."

Word just in that Burnett took a ball off of the tip of his thumb making the last out...

…day-to-day at this point.

Ray Knight made an interesting post-game comment about Morse...

(Not a pitcher, I know, but…)
Apparently, Riggles knew him from Seattle and really liked him there…said Morse was the best utility man he’d ever seen. So we should see more Morse.

Who would they callup who could HELP?

There's no one to help, like in win........but several someones need to eat innings

I know it was between two Satans, but Eric Bruntlett turned the 15th unassisted triple play in major league history — and the second that ended a game. Bruntlett’s triple play preserved a win for Pedro Martinez in his return to New York ………

The players only if they said something new that we haven’t already heard.

"Yaaaay! Ronnie Belliard's two-out, two-RBI single in the first tacks on early (+0.136)" -Doghouse

Nice piece of hitting from Ronnie B.

Ladson Inbox: “As for Belliard, I would not be surprised if he was traded before the month was over. If the Nationals can’t get the second baseman that they need this offseason, I would not mind seeing Belliard as the regular second baseman.

Threadjacking? Please.

I sort of figure the charts are a place for random post-game discussion—they’re fun, but it’s not like there’s a bunch of critical content that we have to focus the comments onto…
