MYSTERIES SOLVED, SECRETS REVEALED...

Washington Times' writer Bob Cohn covered the Natosphere's bloggers covering the Nationals yesterday when the Nationals themselves were kind enough to invite a selection of writers behind the scenes before Sunday's game with the same Brewers they play tonight. The story, linked below was printed in the Washington Times this morning:

• Bloggers get suite access at the ballpark - Washington Times - Bob Cohn

"The bloggers got to interview Washington Nationals interim manager Jim Riggleman and some of the players and general manager Mike Rizzo and team president Stan Kasten and other team officials. The bloggers got to watch the Nationals beat the Milwaukee Brewers in their own bloggers suite - 'the first of its kind,' Kasten proudly proclaimed - and, of course, they will blog about all of it."

Racing Sausages

Did any of the games in this series feature the Brewer raing Sausages against the Presidents? I wonder what the gag would be with Teddy…

by backtocali on Aug 24, 2009 4:01 PM EDT reply actions

The first three game had cheesy ersatz sausages, not the real ones.

Apparently the Brewers aren’t willing to pony up air fare for the mascots (I guess the Pirates only had to buy a train/bus ticket for the pierogies). I think the gag was mostly Teddy tackling them (I still giggle when I remember him chasing the racing pierogies around with a big fork!).

I loved

That one race where the Pierogi just leveled Teddy. It was like a blind side hit in a football game.

I think the Pierogi went a little too hard with that hit...

That was interesting.

I read an article that said the longest time people feel comfortable waiting in silence is about 15-20 seconds; after that they get uncomfortable and start talking again. A good tactic by documentarians, for sure.

I'm just talking about filling out a lineup card and playing the players on the roster...

they were so bad, they got sent down. Remember the errors? the wasted at-bats? the general suck?

They need moar time in not-the-Major League.
