Game 128: Nyjer Morgan Breaks Hand...Washington Nationals Win 5-4 Over Chicago Cubs.
Ryan Zimmerman (+0.071) and Adam Dunn (+0.035) hit one HR each, combine to knock in 3 runs in 5-4 game, but Cristian "Don't Deal Me" Guzman (+0.003) is today's HERO!! 1 for 5 with 2 RBI's!!! Or is it DC Closer Mike MacDougal (+ 0.290) who gets a 5-out save to hold on to the Nationals' 46th win??? NOT A HERO? Milton Bradley, (-0.268) Cubbies' OF who ends the day, 0 for 5 and grounds out to end the game with the tying run on base...A play at the plate on a passed ball costs the Cubs the tying run when Derrek Lee (+ .0.171) tries to score from third and gets tagged out by the pitcher Sean Burnett (+ 0.065)!!!
Nationals now 46-82. (Countdown To 100 Losses Stands At...18)

This sucks! T-Plush is one of the main reasons the Nats are still lovable in their last place status.

man, this really stinks
I wish TPlush a speedy recovery. Kinda takes the joy out of the win
I just did an interview where I said he's been behind DC's 2nd half improvement....
Bryce Harper here we come!!

NOOOOOOOO....
Maybe Thrillie can be almost as productive.
He was doing pretty darn well before TPlush arrived.
TPlush has set a new tone so maybe the nats can keep it up…for TPlush.
My pitching philosophy is simple; you gotta keep the ball off the fat part of the bat. Satchel Paige
maybe Nyjer Morgan's wrist is broken...
but T. Plush is just fine.
ah, crap. it ain’t workin…

I guess it's a good thing I ended up not listening to the game...
Bad Cubs! Maybe they can pull themselves together and beat the Mets. (Did I just see a pig fly by?)
And now that the Cubs-Nationals series is over, get out there and get some more wins. Beat the Cardinals! Also, too bad about Nyger Morgan and his broken hand. Hopefully, he’ll be good as new next season.
"Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?"--The Brain
Thanks, Brook. The Nationals will do what they can against the Cards, but they beat DC up pretty bad last time out...
…and DC’s T-Plush-less offense is going to need a spark…

TAWH is good in CF, but nowhere near what Nyjer brought to the table...so defensively, we're taking a big hit too.
Yep.
Only small bright side is that maybe bringing up J-Max might be his chance to give it a good go and take his chances.
Padilla walked into the Nats' clubhouse for the first time and said, "My God. I'm in heaven."
Mezza...
I finally got access to ESPN360 and I get access to Australian Rules Football a couple mornings a week. What’s your team?
Any word on a call-up?

Maxwell played in the Syracuse game tonight......... 0-4 in a 2-1 loss
I suppose they could fly him out tomorrow, if they want to add an OF….

The Nationals have not decided on Morgan’s replacement on the roster. Rizzo and interim manager Jim Riggleman plan to discuss the situation on the plane ride to St. Louis.
“We are not sure about the corresponding move, so we are going to figure that out,” Rizzo said. “Riggs and I are going to talk on the plane, and we’ll have a corresponding move tomorrow.”

Kearns
He’s due off the DL isnt he? I’d love J-Max to get a shot but Kearns could cover all OF positions. And has intangibles.
Padilla walked into the Nats' clubhouse for the first time and said, "My God. I'm in heaven."
Why couldn't it have been Kearns???
I think he’s done….

No idea when he is due back.
But I was under the impression he was not done for the season. Rizzo is a fan…sadly.
Padilla walked into the Nats' clubhouse for the first time and said, "My God. I'm in heaven."
Ten days ago, Chico reported....
“Austin Kearns (bruised right thumb) is still several weeks away from beginning a rehab assignment.”
With four weeks left, there’s no time….

Not even a farewell tour for Kearnsie?
Last week I thought I saw him in the dugout during a game…maybe he’s at least going to attend home games so we can show our love to him.
(clears throat)
He's stayed with the team throughout, I believe.....
They only leave when sent on rehab assignment, and that option ends when the minors finish, except for Florida maybe….
Farewell, Bluegrass…..that’s all you get…

+16m from me
Padilla walked into the Nats' clubhouse for the first time and said, "My God. I'm in heaven."
Hey Roscoe
Im in the north here mate- so Brisbane Lions would be the only team I would be allowed to follow.
I’m a Brisbane boy- it’s genetically hard coded that I blindly follow Brisbane/Queensland teams (state based sporting rivalries are much bigger here than in the US I think. Given there are only 5 states and 2 territories. Something to keep in mind when you see Victorian teams beat the snot out of South Australian teams…etc).
Padilla walked into the Nats' clubhouse for the first time and said, "My God. I'm in heaven."
These are the games I get the next couple mornings...
West Coast Eagles vs. Richmond
Port Adelaide vs North Melbourne
Can’t say I recognize these teams from when I watched, say, 15 or 20 years ago.
Yea theyd be all different
Those two match ups are pretty much lower down the ladder – and we’re coming up to finals time so look for those in the top 8 to go out hard. The games u mentioned probably wont be outstanding games- I’d be on the lookout for
Hawthorn v Essendon, Saturday
Carlton v Adelaide Crows, Saturday
And my pick- the NSW v QLD darby
Sydney Swans v Brisbane Lions, Saturday – this game will be huge as a few of the Swans players are retiring and Brisbane hates Sydney (well, everyone who doesnt live in Sydney…hates Sydney).

Good night NatsTown.
I’ll miss Friday’s game due to some preseason football. Tom Brady against the Skins. Could be fun.
