My thought exactly, why not hit Belliard for Orr? No offense to the hustler...

Repost.......

Belliard is hitting .325 with five doubles, three home runs and 14 RBIs in 33 games since the All-Star break.

Belliard is second on the team in August with a .367 batting average. He is hitting .409 in his past nine games with a double, grand slam, six RBIs and four runs scored.

Riggles needs to play to win every game. Belly, even though he’s fixin to be traded, woulda been a good move at that point.

by RoscoeNats on Aug 30, 2009 4:51 PM EDT up reply actions

Maybe he was told to play Belliard only 1 inning since the

trade is almost done.
Or to evaluate Orr for when Belliard is traded.

Hey, I agree.

I thought for sure Belliard would come in to hit for Mock when Morse came in instead.

The Nationals traded second baseman Ronnie Belliard to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday afternoon for minor league pitcher Luis Garcia and a player to be named later. Garcia, at the time of the deal, was pitching for Class A Great Lakes of the Midwest League.
