Game 140: "Interesting" in the Corderoan sense...

290910120_phillies_nationals_141522751_lbig_medium

via www.fangraphs.com

  • Yaaaay! Pete Orr leads the early rally with an RBI triple (+0.230)
  • YAAAAAAAY! Ron Villone finishes an agonizing ninth by getting Ryan Howard to GDP (+0.377)
  • Her0(s): RV gets the save (+0.229) and Ian Desmond (+0.198) gets the new franchise record for RBI in a major league debut with 4 on a double and a 3-run dinger
  • g0at: Mike MacDougal (-0.192) can't close it out after Zach Segovia (-0.035) gives up four runs to turn junk time into a blown-save-opportunity

Another thriller that ends the right way this time, in spite of the bullpen's valiant effort to bring teh suk.  Two debuts, "One of us!" for Segovia, and "BANG!ZOOM!!" for Desmond.  Welcome to the big time, boys.

Corderoan...heh...GO DESMOND GO!!!! - Cardholder #2!!

Vivian Jaffe: "Have you ever transcended space and time?"
Albert Markovski: "Yes. No. Uh, time, not space... No, I don't know what you're talking about."

Ima get me a "FOD&D" jersey with #3 on it...

Be thankful you weren’t at the park tonight having to listen to awful Filly Fans. Luckily they were mostly in the more expensive seats, but I had to spend a fair amount of time booing the heck out of the two in my section. There was a group of 10-12 year old kids talking some serious trash on the Fils, too.

"Matt Stairs snapped an 0-for-30 skid with the pinch-hit grand slam."

Maybe Segovia should just watch……. maybe put him in against the Mets…

"Desmond drove his three-run shot to center and sprinted around the bases so quickly that he nearly caught Dukes, who had been on first base. "

Is that how they do it in Syracuse?

It was heart-attack-inducing, but he got the job done.

I’m going to forget about the 9th from this game and just remember the good times. Man, did you see than bomb Dezzie hit into the Red Porch? Awesome!

You can't deny Villone his "hop of joy" at the Howard grounder now........

And Orr with the nod to second at the final out?…….. Alberto to Ian to Orr….. Chiefs!!!

i know i beat you guys over the head with it

but Dunn is a great hitter period.

3-1 change on the black goes for some much needed cushion.

4 and Dunn

as in

to 40

no good?

Heck yeah........ sounded like he was going for a dinker last night also...

I’m just pleased at his play at 1B….everything else is gravy….
