As expected...
We all predicted Hammer gets a day off. He’s been sucking.
I’ll be in and out. All the energy has left this team since T. Plush went down.
Energy and interest apparently...

WAIT...did you see this? Odd
While the Nationals haven’t yet picked up any of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ pitchers we listed a few days ago as candidates for the “player to be named later” in the Ronnie Belliard trade, Nats media relations director Mike Gazda confirms that the team has scooped up left-handed Dodger minor-league relief pitcher Victor Garate, 24, off the waiver wire. (The Nats’ radio broadcast had originally stated that Garate was the PTBNL in the Belliard deal, but shortly thereafter issued the correct information.)

Smoltz wanted to go some place with a good team so he
could show the Braves how stupid and wrong they were for not sticking with him.
So there was no siren song the Nats could have sung to lure him here. He needed a good team behind him to make the Braves see the error of their ways.

you remind me of my father when we were watching Carolina basketball games. He was always sure they’d lose, every missed free throw was the end of the world, yada, yada, yada.
But he bled Carolina blue..as do I.. every day of his life. Killed me that he died 2 months before Carolina won that title in ’93.

right on cue
extolling the virtues of eckstein
he’s 5’8
and at least 2’5 of that is guts
Hey, Martins...I hate Ecksteion for the record, but
he has parlayed every bit if himself into a wildly successful Major League player for a long time.
Some of our more physically gifted players could learn lots from him .. and leanr that they’re not owed anything unless they produce — every damn day.
The two most important things in life are good friends and a strong bullpen. - Bob Lemon
dont get me wrong
hes done well for himself, considering what he’s been dealt. But I hate it when people act like he’s some sort of superstar. The guy is a below average hitter, he always has been
his career OPS barely breaks 700.. i mean cmon, he is what he is
I actually enjoy Dibs' snark.
He’s certanily more fun to listen to than that jerk Sutton who made no attempt to hide his contempt for bob Carpenter. That’s not fun to listen to.

I am sooooooooo tired of him now.

Three by Gameday...
Although the one he popped out may have been marginal if the ump had been calling high strikes.

At least the '62 Mets remain in the rearview
There’s not much else to look forward to. Two runs in three games in San Diego against that dominant trio of Tim Stauffer, Clayton Richard, and Kevin Correia….. that’s just #$ embarassing.
