Webb Not Interested in Pay Cut
Here's another link for y'all.
Sounds like Brandon Webb, potential free agent, isn't interested in a reduced salary from his current employers, the Arizona Diamondbacks. The D-backs have a team option for Webb at $8.5 million with a $2 million buy-out.
Sounds like Webb might just hit the open market, but if he's that adament about not taking a pay cut, what chance to the Nats have of signing him at $8.5+ million?
My guess: Little to none. Should be an interesting off-season for GM Mike Rizzo in finding a veteran free agent starter to head up his "kiddie corps".

Considering that...(after a quick glance, might be wrong)...
Scott Olsen at $2.8M is the highest paid pitcher right now, sudden jump to $8.5 doesn’t seem likely…

I guarantee he's not coming back to DC at $3.75M..

That’s the odd thing…I don’t recall trading for McDougal. I thought he got cut, so we could have him for the minimum. Oh well, not my money.
Yeah MacD was released, signed non-guaranteed MiL deal...
Don’t know what it would take to keep him…

Second.
Also, I agree that Webb probably won’t end up here. He doesn’t want to play for less than $8.5 million (on a bad team, at least) and the Nationals are a worse team than he’s on now.
He’s a good pitcher (3.27 career ERA, spent with the Diamondbacks) but I doubt he’ll come to DC.
I dont know
Maybe webb would like to play on a team that could give him a little run support every now and again
Rizzo knows
Im hoping that he gets the right guy – Id be leery of Webbs health…but hopefully whoever he gets wont end up DOA on Dr Andrew’s floor.
