Game 139: A good one, but still a lose...

  • Yaaaaay! Josh Willingham doubles to set up a late-inning rally that fizzles after only one run (+0.220)
  • Boooooo! Adam Dunn lines into a DP to kill Zimmy's walkoff chance (-0.288)
  • g0at: Tyler Clippard (-0.329) just can't resist giving up back-to-back dingers in a tie game...
  • Her0: Alberto Gonzalez (+0.219) goes 3-5 and makes nifty tag-throw DP.

Ah, look at that graph whipsaw back and forth--this game was a rollercoaster that finally ran into a wall.

It's not like we dont have our chances.

There have only been a few games this season where we’ve been blown out of the water. Tonight’s game was another example where we had plenty of chances to win it and couldnt put them away.

Padilla walked into the Nats' clubhouse for the first time and said, "My God. I'm in heaven."

'You know what, we're losing, but these teams are having a heck of a time beating us" -Riggles, 2009

''...we were tied for first place for the wild card, and we can't have September call-ups. We couldn't do any trades. They didn't want us to win.''

"September will not double as a stage for auditions."

“If I send a message to the ballclub that we’re gonna put our Class AAA call-ups out there on a daily basis to see what they can do……..”

Noble Riggler……… of course you’re right, baseball man……..

Yep, we're talking about two guys, Riggler, who may be really needed....Desmond and Maxwell.

And if you care about winning and veteran play, let TAWH give Slumpingham abreak in LF.
