Nationals 2011 Payroll
What follows is a table of the likely major league payroll for the Washington Nationals for the 2011 season. It includes the expected 25 man roster as well as some other players on major league contracts. Below the table is a list of all the major contracts by player in alphabetical order.
I have made a guess at what the 25 man roster may look like. The players on this list will almost certainly change by opening day and throughout the season. I will try to keep this list updated as we gather new information.
I have made educated estimates as to what each player's salary will be. Numbers in italics are estimates.

Sean Burnett
Nice guess for most of these guys. I find it hard to believe that Mr. Burnett will make $2.5 mil next year. He had a really good year last year, but didn’t get enough saves (a sexy stat for arb purposes) to justify a more than three fold jump from last year’s salary. I would pin him a lot closer to $1.5 million than $2.5.
Now, with the money that we ‘saved’ there, we can invest it in letting Jamie Moyer rehab on our dime so he can enter our rotation in 2012… just a hair under 50.

Curious why you are keeping the flame of Nook Logan alive?
Not a criticism, just a question.

Really helpful thread.
Certainly shows you why they can afford to overpay for Derrek Lee for one year if they need to. Next side of this, of course, is to look how this stuff starts to escalate after next year. But that payroll certainly argues for how they could have kept Dunn if they were motivated to do so.

Clearly they can *afford* Lee
That doesn’t necessarily mean they should sign him though.

Thanks again for doing this and staying on top of it.
Would not be focused on how we actually had a low payroll if it weren’t for resources like this.
