• Live press conference to start on MLB Network in 2 minutes at 5:00 pm EST.

It's official. Here's the announcement from the Nationals: @NatsTownNews:

"Nationals agree to terms on 7-year deal with OF Jayson Werth."

Tim Brown from Yahoo!Sports.com is reporting and others are confirming that the deal is 7-years/$126M. Jayson Werth is a Washington National.

As I noted earlier in the day in another post Mike Harris of AOL Fanhouse and NatsFanboyLooser reported that the Nats were close to a deal that would bring a former Phillies' outfielder to D.C. and a number of sources are now reporting that the Washington Nationals have signed free agent outfielder Jayson Werth to what is apparently a 7-year deal. Info coming out right now along with a variety of sources confirming the news including the Nationals' official Twitter @NatsTownNews which just announced that the, "Nationals will have a major announcement at 5:00 P.M." More info when it's available...
