From the story:

Werth deal
Is the most surprising deal of the Winter meetings at a poll conducted on mlbtraderumors.com
Nationals sign Jayson Werth for $126MM 54.64% (2,667 votes)
In front of Crawford at 34%
Ian Desmond is my hero!
Just read an article from ESPN.com - Jason Stark

It almost made me sick… Oy vey !
Hateration from ESPN
Because they are BoSox/Yankees network and have no idea what other support we have in our organization for the moves that we make.
The wait for 10/7 begins. This man is focused. Are you?
He fails to mention that the Royals became a joke again...
…by signing Jeff Francoeur.

All is well in KC
They signed Melke Cabrera as well (.255/.317/.354). What an outfield that’s going to be!
Ask Padres fans if they're a winner at the deadline?

Great article and thanks for surfacing it
Forgot about some of those little details like the angst over whether he’d be permanent. Didn’t realize how tactical he was about getting in line for GM jobs either.

Dumb Dumb article, just remember that last year all the baseball writers
were coronating Jack Zurednick (spelling?) as having the best offseason of every one and that the Mariners were going to be a force to be reckoned with.
Ooops , we all know how that turned out.
It’s amazing that these guys still write this kind of stuff year after year. As for ESPN, it lives up to it’s “Eastern Seaboard Programming Network” name very well. Too bad MLB Network is getting just as bad.
Patiently waiting for "next year" since 1971.
Oops, I was referring to the Jayson Stark article, not the nice article about Rizzo.
Loved the story of how upset his staff was when he knew he got the GM job and the press was reporting that Di Poto had been hired.
