Washington Nationals Announce Opening Day Lineup...

MLB.com's Bill Ladson (@washingnats) sent out two Twitter messages early this morning, the first announcing that the Washington Nationals would make the final cuts of Spring this Saturday as they go from 35 players, after sending RHP Luis Atilano to Syracuse on Thursday, to the 25-Man Roster with which they'll start the 2010 campaign, and though fans of the Nationals won't know about the final cuts until the Nats are back in Nationals Park to face the Red Sox tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 pm EST, MLB.com's Bill Ladson did just announce the Nationals' Opening Day starters, who will go up against Roy Halladay and the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday afternoon in the nation's capital...Here it is, the Nationals' Opening Day lineup, after over a month of battles for the starting job at short, after Elijah Dukes' departure and the scramble to find a suitable substitute in right, after DC Skipper Jim Riggleman's tinkered and experimented, here is the Nats' team that will take the field just after 1:05 pm EST on Monday:

• DC Starting Lineup vs Philadelphia - 4/5/10: 

  1. Nyjer "NMIMH" Morgan - CF
  2. Willie "TAWH" Harris - RF
  3. THE KIDS CALL HIM ZIM!!! - 3B (Word.)
  4. Adam "Light Switch" Dunn - 1B

  6. "The New AK" Adam Kennedy- 2B
  7. Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez - C

5) Josh Willingham - No At Bats vs Halladay.
