Washington Nationals' Jason Marquis To 15-Day DL According To MLB.com's Bill Ladson.
Anyone who saw Jason Marquis' last few starts and didn't think he was injured will wonder if this is an attempt to buy Marquis time or an admission of an actual injury, either way, MLB.com's Bill Ladson (@washingnats) reports via Twitter:
"#Nats RHP Jason Marquis has been placed on the 15-day DL because of elbow soreness."

In this case
“DL” stands for “Doghouse List”.

Elbow Soreness
My elbow would hurt to, if the entire Nats roster jumped me in the locker room after the 10 spot against Mill-A-Walk-A.

I'm not suprised he's on the DL...
according to the news reports I’ve seen, the MRI shows he has some" bodies" (they didn’t specify what kind) floating around in the elbow. I wondered if there was an injury since he usually doesn’t pitch that poorly.

Not a shock
As I stated before, the rockies left him off the post season roster for a reason.

He was on the Rockies post season roster...
He wasn’t on the Cards 2006 & Cubs 2007 post season rosters.

If you keep correcting him
He might stop saying this.

Chico?????
really he would be about my 5th or 6th choice. Honestly. That dude put up an era over 6 while pitching in RFK!!!!

Chico hasn’t even been lights out in AA this year. He’s got a long, long way to go but it’s good to see him still in the system.

FYI: At this point, I think that Zuckerman's head and shoulders above Ladson for this kind of stuff.
Zuckerman’s post on this was clear and to the point, went into Atilano’s history, and explained how part of it is how the schedules line up. I support calling up Atilano even as I hope that Martin will eventually get some time.

Uh, *EVERYBODY* is head and shoulders above Ladson
Just this morning I was commenting to myself how miserable a beat writer mlb.com got in Ladson. I know I could do a better job, and I’m just a math geek.

I KNEW IT!!!

Patiently waiting for "next year" since 1971.
Makes sense. Im sure im the only one (apart from Rizzo) that doesnt think Marquis is complete cr*p (although he’s played like it).
Ian Desmond is my hero!
My husband has lingering anger issues about Marquis
after his stint with the Cubs and he thought Marquis was lying about being hurt when I told him. As for my son and I, we don’t think Marquis is complete cr*p either (you are not alone Mezza) and wish him well. You have to wonder whether the “floating” bodies have been a problem throughout his career and perhaps he would have been a better pitcher if he found out sooner. My husband is going to feel guilty when he finds out that Marquis had an arthogram and MRI … then again, maybe not. LOL

Ta Jazzy, I just thought we probably should give him more than 3 games before writing him off. I mean, we allowed Cabrera more chances.
I am annoyed though that there doesnt appear to have been decent due dilligence done on this deal. I would have thought Marquis had this issue when we signed him…maybe Rizzo should insist on an MRI for all FA pitcher signings?

I'm pretty sure they do this already
Transaction physicals are pretty thorough, I’m led to believe.

I was disappointed by his last outing...
And I was wondering if he was injured. And no, I don’t think he was hiding an injury. I sort of relieved there is an injury since it explains the trouble. He’s usually not as bad as he’s been.
I still believe in him.

His release point has gotten higher
A higher release point is usually a good indication of an injury. When players have elbow problems they tend to try and catapult it with a high release, when they have shoulder injuries their release point drops and they throw more side arm.
The real question is did this injury first flare up last year when he struggled and was left off the playoff roster…?
