"'Are we envious of it? Yeah, of course we are. It's kind of embarrassing to get booed on Opening Day in your home stadium, but that's how it is.'" - Ryan Zimmerman

He needs to know it was the fault of management...
…and not the fans. I hope he knows that all those Phillies tickets were sold before the single game tickets went on sale to local fans.
I hope he’s read the accounts of it. At the next Q&A, perhaps someone should ask him if he’s talked to management about correcting this in the future. There are at least 30,000 locals fans who would show up to the game if they had a chance.
I do wonder how badly this hurts the chances of him resigning… pretty badly, I imagine, probably for all players. I would guess this was the single most destructive day in the history of the team. I remember in 2005 all the players talking about how great it was to be in DC and how great it was to have fans and a home stadium. And now we’re back to the Expos where they’re playing home games in a foreign park, essentially.
I miss RFK back when we had seats that bounced and no Clint and no cheerleaders and where in some places you couldn’t hear the constant ads and where the fans actually gave a damn. I think the last real chants I heard were on RFK’s last day. We even chanted for Wily Mo Pena! And Teddy. And the Chief. God I miss that place…
A lot of these bad vibes will get erased once Strasburg gets called up. Then there will be national attention for a positive story and people will talk about hope, at least once every 5th day. Strasburg…J. Zimmermann…respectability. That’s got to be the mantra.
erskine has scored...now i can die in peace
Even Wang is an upgrade over what we have now.
Lannan is a decent pitcher a few times a year, but on very few teams would he be the opening day starter.
Everybody here knows that he's a no. 3 starter
Theoretically it’s Strasburg, JZimm(n), Lannan, Marquis, Detweiler if we are a legit team. Nobody expects Lannan to be a 1. A homegrown 3 will do. Wang is a complete crapshoot, and anything he offers us this year is gravy IMHO.

I just hope Detwiler can be a major league pitcher.
He has the skills but I’m more and more convinced that most of it is between the ears.
Btw, I got tickets to tonight's game in Altoona if anyone wants to buy them
They’re excellent seats and I’m willing to sell at cost to anyone from here. All comparable ones are sold out at the park.
We can always go to Philly ? Bus anyone ?
For the record some very nice Phillies fans took pics for my girlfriends family and I at the Red Porch that was cool ….
When I go to Philly...
I wear an all black Expos cap so I don’t have to endure taunts and I quietly cheer for my team…Maybe they could try that in DC…
I think the folks waiting for a Kasten apology should wait without holding their breath for safety-sake…
Vivian Jaffe: "Have you ever transcended space and time?"
Albert Markovski: "Yes. No. Uh, time, not space... No, I don't know what you're talking about."

I took a pic for those Phillies guys up near the scoreboard bar...
They were nice guys.
Separate thought…if the Nats would have won that game, I bet the disgust over all the opposing fans would have been about a zillion percent less. Personaly, I’d stipp be ticked at Stan for the money grab. No way in heck did he not know exactly what was happening. His job is to make money…Rizzo’s job is to put a better product on the field.
What did Kasten say last year, " We get what we get" in reference to the fans coming to the games.
I don’t blame Kasten for a full audience of Philly fans at Nats Park. That’s what business is all about. Now what I do hate are owners who, according to Forbes magazine, were the third highest profit making team in league, not taking those profits and say telling the GM to not worry about the price tag for Chapman. 33.5 million dollars !!! Even without the monies given from the league they would have had a nominal profit. Where are the international prospects. How about spending you monies after the first pick of the draft? Live a little, hey… I’ve been cool with playing the nice fan and all but….crap I’m sounding like THE MAMBA… OK I’ve said my peace. I read that Forbes article this morning and it sent my blood pressure throught the roof. I do like kittens and puppies and I still hate snakes…
