David Price: "I did keep up with [the '09 Draft], I am interested in seeing [Stephen Strasburg] him make his next start. From what I've seen on ESPN, his stuff on tv looks pretty good, so I'm pretty excited for him and I'm ready to see him get up there and get his first start and I wish him well."

• DC Skipper Jim Riggleman On Matt Capps' Recent Struggles:

Jim Riggleman: "[Matt Capps] is throwing the ball very well. The ball hasn't been down quite as much as it was earlier, but then again when he got a ball down and it moved away on Berkman we didn't get the call. Each of the last games that Matt has been involved in there has been an error that let the winning run cross the plate or a call that didn't go our way so...now if he had a clean 1-2-3 inning it wouldn't be an issue, but in the ninth inning it's hard to get those three outs, and he's gotten the three outs if we'd made some plays for him. So, I'm very satisfied with the way he's throwing the ball. The results? I know none of us are satisfied with..."

Let's go Nats go!

Couldn’t get out of the office early, so I’ll be fighting traffic to get home then schlepp over. I’ll be stopping for rally sammiches on the way to help break the streak. Winning homestand starts tonight (I hope)!

I’m hoping Hernandez make a batter cry tonight. They say you know a great team in any sport when the other knows what you’re bringing and still can’t do anything about it. I picture someone in the bottom of the reds order getting the swing away call on a batters count then flopping the bat at livans junk balls three times in a row

Riggles just simply loves to go R L R in the batting order because he believes it will help the other team burn relievers.

The problem with this logic is that anyone who believes they need a LOOGY to get Bernadina out has not watched his befuddlement with the mystery known as the breaking ball.

Doesn't matter - he can't overrule the third base umpire from first base

Relax, all right? Don't try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

Have the entire thing controlled by computers...

It may take the human element out of the game, but at least there wouldn’t be any umps to screw up the outcome of the game…

Angel Hernandez is just as bad

Two instances where he decided to be the show rather than the players in the Rays-Blue Jays series earlier this week. Once when he didn’t allow Pena time out (which I actually agree with) and then booted Joe Maddon. The other was when he said that Sean Rodriguez missed third base scoring from second on a single and called him out. Got brushed under because it was the same night as the perfect game mistake, but Rodriguez CLEARLY touched third base on the play.
