Sickels is doing another All Questions Asked thread.
If you’ve got any questions about our prospects, here’s where you go. I already put up a question about Maya and where he projects him to be and what would he do with him.
On a desperate search for Sunshine at Nats Park.
He's up to 40+ questions already.
Once the games start, that’s going to grow quick and he might close it. All this to say get in while the water’s warm.
On a desperate search for Sunshine at Nats Park.
Gustavo Chacin
Picked up a save today for the Astros. He was in Nats camp at one point in his career.
Why not us? Why not now?
While nice for Chacin...
it was bad for the Cubs who lost in extra innings.

I just wanted to stop in and say a few things
First off I think Souldrummer is one of the most popular guests at Red Reporter.
Also I am really excited to see this kid pitch tonight, I haven’t had a chance to watch him yet. So I’m hoping we win 2-1.
Enjoy the game.
I am thrilled for your success, hell I'm amazed by it. Nobody who knows you saw this coming.
Thanks Justin. He hasn't disappointed yet, even when he's struggled he's fun to watch...

He's a lot of fun
This kid Leake is fun to watch, too. He’s an athlete – in his first game against the Nats I remember thinking that he can not only hit (all pitchers hit against the Nats, it’s a scandal really) but he also runs the bases well.
I’m hoping for an 8-0 Nats win tonight, but that’s just me ;-)
yeah, we like Leake a lot
I hope for him to win a triple crown one year, Cy Young, Sliver Slugger, and Gold Glove!
I am thrilled for your success, hell I'm amazed by it. Nobody who knows you saw this coming.

Arroyo's too inconsistent
Over at Red Reporter, depending on the evening he’s either Goodroyo or Badroyo, and there’s really no in between. Hell, last season he sucked something awful in the 1st half, and was surprisingly arguably one of the best pitchers in baseball in the 2nd half.
by Highlifeman21 on Jul 21, 2010 9:28 PM EDT up reply actions
Heh, inconsistent pitchers are a constant for the Nats...
…although half good/half bad would be great. Last few seasons, it’s usually 3 or 4 crappy starts, one good game (with no run support, so it’s still a loss), then another 3 or 4 bad starts…
"And everybody lived happily ever after. Except the Phillies and the Mets. The End." --Sasskuash
Friend of Dukes and Desmond #3
The problem with the inconsistency is that he's been untradeable
and now we’re most likely just going to not pick up his option and buy him out, since if we offer him arbitration I have a bad feeling he’d accept, and he might actually make more than if we’d picked up his options
I want Arroyo off the Reds in the worst way. I just cannot take anymore of him.

Glad to see the voice of reason from Cincy
He’s a game changer at the plate.
Relax, all right? Don't try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.
But a butcher in the outfield.
Yet surprisingly near-average at first. It may be the perfect Dunn position now that he’s gotten used to it (more or less).

I get hammered over at Red Reporter for this all the time
but LF defense just doesn’t matter, especially when you’re comparing the Adam Dunns and Josh Willinghams of the world to guys like Carl Crawford. Seriously, baseball’s shown us that teams stick awful defense guys out in LF b/c they rake/thump/what have you.
What I find ironic is that we could NEVER get Dunn to play 1B regularly in Cincinnati. I think he maybe played 100 games (this is a guess, and I’m too lazy to get to fangraphs or baseball cube to double check) in his 7ish years. But again, I never had a problem with Dunn in LF b/c of what he brought to the plate. Dude gave us 100 R/40 HR/100 RBI like clockwork, while playing 150+ games a year. And let’s not forget that he’s at worst a what, .850 OPS bat? Gimme more of that, please.
by Highlifeman21 on Jul 21, 2010 9:45 PM EDT up reply actions
I think it was Rob Neyer that said strikeouts hurt our feelings
and I guess the casual Reds fans just could never get past the strikeouts, and his batting average
Me, I never minded his strikeouts b/c he walked so damn much that his OBP was always excellent, to offset his AVG. He always had a high SLG, so his OPS was always stellar. I guess Cincinnati fans just wanted to see him swing the bat more, and rode him out of town b/c of the strikeouts.
Although I’m sure Red Reporter would classify me more as a Adam Dunn fanboy than a voice of reason.
by Highlifeman21 on Jul 21, 2010 9:49 PM EDT up reply actions
Dunn is gold with the bat, no doubt.
The Ks are frustrating, but the walks and DINGERZ more than make up for ‘em. The poor fielding is a legit beef against Dunn’s overall value as a player, but with him settling in as only-slightly-below-average at first it’s all gravy.

Like I said, I'd care more about his D if he played anything but LF for us
and he seems like he’s holding his own @ 1B for you, which means the year he’s having this year is pure money, and I wish we had that instead of Jonny Gomes this year.
Oh to dream.
